We were highly disappointed in our stay there. We are in City Centre all the time. We were told that the party would be great (the band was good) and that there would be a fantastic fireworks display at midnight. It was our first stay at your hotel. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We arrived about 7pm, checked into our room, changed clothes and immediately left for the evening. We went outside then about 8:30 went into the club. It was so small and already so crowded that there was no place to sit whatsoever. That's not a bad thing, we were just expecting a place where we could enjoy the party comfortably. We didn't know that it would be so crowded that it was nearly impossible to move in it. We went out by the pool and enjoyed the view. At 12am we watched the fireworks display. at 12:01 am, it was over. The entire crowd was furious and asking "what was that" and commenting on how bad the display was. Needless to say, it was a great disappointment knowing we spent that much money for a New Year's Eve party and experienced the worst fireworks display EVER. We could not get back into the club due to the crowd so we went up to the room to finish off the evening. We went into the bathroom and discovered that the toilet was stopped up and we dare not flush it again to prevent water damage and sewage spilling out all over the floor. Upon our arrival, we requested a late checkout time and planned on spending the day there at your hotel and at City Centre. However, not having a bathroom we could use, we packed up and checked out early. It all made for a very disappointing New Year's Eve celebration. Yes, we could have called for maintenance to come to the room after midnight to repair the toilet, but I was with my wife wanting to spend a romantic evening together and NOT destroy the mood by sitting up and waiting on a maintenance person to come repair the toilet. I told the girls at the desk this morning as we left, and they were not impolite, but obviously not concerned. In their defense, I'm sure there was nothing they could do to make it any better. The did comp our valet parking and I appreciate that, but I will NEVER stay in another Valencia Property again. This left a very bad taste...
Read moreVery disappointed in our stay at Hotel Sorella for Valentine’s weekend. My husband and I had been looking forward to this kid-free evening for over a month. When we arrived the front desk staff was less than friendly - would expect more from a hotel of this caliber...not even a smile as we checked in. My husband specifically requested a room on a higher floor far away from the elevators and it’s like they did the exact opposite. Our room was on the 5th floor literally the first room as you get off of the elevator. We did have champagne and strawberries in our room (which we ordered) as we arrived but the size of the room was beyond disappointing. But maybe we set our expectations too high? We had requested a “junior suite” so we were expecting something at least a bit amazing. And as we entered the room we were a bit confused. It was a very average size regular room - except for the fact that as you approached the window to look outside there was a nook with a small dining table to the left. The website boasted an updated walk-in shower and our very mediocre bathroom had a basic tub and shower combo complete with loose shower hardware and a cheap blow dryer hanging on the hook next to the toilet. I mean even the shower was disappointing. We paid for an upgrade to look out on City Center which was also probably a mistake as the windows are so thin that you could hear the live music and the bar down below - until 2AM. Like I could literally hear a group’s ENTIRE CONVERSATION from my bed. Maybe the room service the next morning would be phenomenal but nope, the food came barely above room temperature. And as the waiter delivered our food he forgot to bring up part of our order and asked if we “would like the waffle that he brought on accident” instead of the pain perdue that we originally ordered. We said we would like the dish that we originally ordered. It took half an hour for the last dish of breakfast to be delivered. All in all I don’t think we’ll be staying at this hotel again. I think next time we will try Zaza...
Read moreAverage hotel with expensive materials used during construction. I've had better experiences in less "classy" places for a lot less cash. A pain to drive to (especially at night because it's not well lit) and there are tons of people on the very small crowded streets. Good luck finding this place without having scoped it out ahead of time during daylight. Be careful on the elevators, they all bounce excessively and you can hear banging as they go up and down. Elevator doors don't close all the way leaving a 1/2 inch gap which doesn't help the safety impression. Room was quiet. Actual shower and not a tub, although there's no door on the shower and water gets everywhere. Bathroom door (pocket door) is difficult to open and close. Door to the room is very heavy and hard to open. No queen beds, only double, and it seems like the reason is two queens wouldn't fit: twice smashed feet between the two double beds because they're so close together. No nightstand or even a shelf between the beds. The beds were comfortable however, and the thermostat is easily adjustable and room changes temperature quickly. Couldn't get adjoining rooms and ended up 100ft apart even though the room directly across the hall was open and available; waited 5 minutes while trainee looked through the system helplessly before giving up. Tries to have higher-end continental breakfast by supplying fruit and croissants, but then completely leaves off any protein (no yogurt, eggs, bacon, or sausage). You CAN get those, but you have to pay hotel prices for it. No parking at the hotel, you have to valet or walk 500 ft from a multi-level parking garage. Can't get a luggage cart on your own (they force an attendant) which means now you're obligated to tip both coming and going. Valet attendants were extremely courteous and helpful every time, although they did "lose" our keys once by putting them on the wrong peg and I had to point them out. Wouldn't...
