I love France—it is one of my favorite places in the world. Sweet Paris is a close second to being in Paris in Houston as you can get. As you walk in City center—the sights, smells and sounds of the French bakery and cafe beckon me and draw me into the bistro. As you walk in the door, French music greet me as I am greeted by hellos from the familiar staff. Walking towards the cashier, one can see the sweet chef making the crepes, working hard by the sweat of his brow, making sure each and every order is made with delicacy and to perfection. The crepes are beautifully made with love and taste fluffy and sweet down to the last bite. Julieth greets me with a beautiful smile and sparkly eyes ready for a warm hug as she has memorized my husbands and I order, down to the allergies and flavor in the coffee or not. She always has a quick chat and sends us on our way with have a great day! Inri and Daniel are the night shift leaders—my husband and I have become fast friends with them. Inri the sweetest guy always greets us with a smile, and sheepishly grins as we do a quick chat of our rundown of our day. Daniel has a beautiful white grin with sparkly eyes as he talks to us also. As we grab a table, the boys follow us and talk with us at length, giving us their life story as to how they grew up in Mexico but ended up in America. They are such hard working and friendly gentleman. They have excellent customer service and treat you like family. At our table, one of the sweet workers, Alicia brings us our beautiful coffee and crepes to our table. As my husband and I wind down the night, we walk away to our friends and city center family, we wave goodbye as we will see them again soon. The atmosphere is classic with a modern twist—perfect for a after dinner coffee or dessert or a quick French dinner. France is here, along with the staff—stellar service and you will feel at home while you dine. Bonjour sweet...
Read moreParking: Place is located in the Rice Village area and parking will be difficult to find here. Most likely have to drive two or three blocks away to find a parking spot.
Time and Day: Came on a Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM and the restaurant was almost completely full. There was a short line but getting a table is tricky. They have a sign that says you cannot hold a table until you ordered your food.
Food: I got the Le Californian ($9.95) and it was absolutely delicious! The turkey, bacon, and the shredded cheese made a great combination. It was the right amount of serving for me and I would definitely ordered this again if I was given the chance to. The spring mix was a nice touch although I would wish for more. Food gets a 4/5.
Service: Fast service here. They are fast at cleaning the tables (although they can do a better job at it) when people are leaving and my crepe came out quickly. There isn't much interaction here. You ordered your food at the cashier and they bring out your food (assuming you found a table). I saw someone actually trying to find a table for another couple when we were waiting so it is nice that they are looking for a table for you if they know you are eating there. Service gets a 4/5.
Price: Many of the items are under $10. I say the price is right.
Overall: The food and service is good. I would come here more often if I could easily find a parking spot and have a place to sit. Would definitely come back to this place again. This...
Read moreDefinitely was different experience for me here! I had order the Alaskan & my bf ordered the Le California for brunch today. I could say his crepe taste better than mine. I’ve never had a crepe until I came here. My smoked salmon with red onions crepe was alright, but be prepared for the sourness from the capers! It wasn’t what I expected, but nonetheless I am going to go back to try out another dish! I wasn’t going to let one dish not take me back as I am a open minded person. It was a great meal and it’s a nice little cafe to treat yourself or on a date. Most crepes on the menu is about $10 and milkshakes about $6 so it is reasonably priced! Kids crepes is about $6 so bring your little ones as well. Nice, well kept environment & you can watch the cook make the crepe thru the glass! Super interesting! They do have specials on the wall inside like glass of wine was $5 & bottle $20 on a certain day. They serve mimosas, non alcoholic drinks, hot chocolate, & cappuccino as well. Look out for those deals on display & next time I go (which will be very soon) I will choose a SWEET crepe this time with...
