I just left this store and MARY the store manager on duty manager came up to me and asked how can I help you. I was carrying a suitcase in a shopping cart to place my items in after i shopped. I needed to purchase many items . I wanted the all contained to drop all the items off quickly. She told me I would have to take my suitcase to the front and leave it in order to shop. I didnt have time to go back and forth I came to this store to buy several large bagged Items for my yard from garden and construction areas. immediately, I asked her about several items and she repeatedly said she wasn't familiar with the items in question or she wasnt sure if she had them in stock. She didnt identify herself as the store manager soI requested her to find out and another associate. Another came up and he didnt know if a particular product was a item that was stocked at this location. I continued to look and she saw it and stated , Is this the item?I began to pot it the item with other item I wanted to purchase in my shopping cart. She changed her story when she finally saw the items on stock. From that I asked about a refill to a pest spray , she said it might be in another section but she wasn't sure. Then she stated to me get your items and get out the store before I had purchased them.
It was obvious she didn't want to assist me because I didn't take the suit case to the front of the store I had 20 minutes to get my items at this location at 6:15 am. Once I picked up the items l returned to the front to report this associate to the management . At that time she walked up as the MARY store manager as she identified the manager on duty. When she began to revisit the way and manner she handled this entire experience I reminded her she was rude and unaware of the products I wanted to buy and not knowledgeable of common stocked items at Home Depot and attempted to overtalk me in order to create more confusion. I was at the register to pay for all the items i put in the shopping cart. I had cash and card to purchase my items. Look at the surveillance record. When I disagreed with her account of how she treated me, she summoned the security officer at the same time I was ready to pay for my items. This was targeted profiled bias. I had my money in my hand at the time to pay for my items with clear intent to pay for the items i selected. Mary, wanted to create a emotional altercation when she called the officer in. The officer never said anything to me. For what reason? I stated to Mary, she purposely took me thru this experience, due to me being a black male, whom can buy whatever I choose with my money. I know what I want to buy, whether you know your stock or your job description. Yes, and if not at that store, another store location.
Carla, the cashier, was polite when I came into the store, and continued after this incident and I decided to buy a bottle of water to have proof of my time line accuracy. Carla the cashier associate pleasantly checked me out with my transaction which was paid electronically ignoring this store manager demeanor. My experience here at this location was a clear waste of time. Mary the store manager attempted to ruin my experience well knowing she did this to humiliate me because I wasn't stealing anything and I am a long time black male consumer at this store location and many Home Depots...
Read moreI was in store #569, 13400 Market Street, Houston Texas 77015, yesterday, September 19th. I was there to make 2 purchases, 1 wet/dry vacuum for personal use and a Milwaukee 1/2'” impact driver for work. The vacuum was easy to locate and retrieve. The impact turned into a whole other issue. Was able to locate it no problem, however it was locked to a cable and would require the assistance of an associate to retrieve and purchase. Since there was no one working in the tool area I had to step to the end of the aisle and request assistance from one passing by. They readily heard my request and went to locate the “tool associate”. Within a few moments I even heard a page go out for the “tool associate”. I waited patiently for the “tool associate” to show up and release the tool I needed to purchase and be on my way. 3 minutes, 5 minutes….no “tool associate”. I then reached out to another associate, they were easy to find since they were mostly standing around and made a second request. Again willing to go locate a “tool associate” and heard a page again for the “tool Associate”…..more time goes by…..3 more pages for the “tool associate”….5 pages in total over a 20 minuet period…NO ONE SHOWED UP SO I COULD BUY THE $180 IMPACT WRENCH AND LEAVE. NOT EVEN A MANGER OR ASSISTANT MANAGER OR MANAGER IN TRAINING OR SUPERVISOR AND AN INDIVIDUAL THAT COULD OPEN, UNLOCK, RELEASE TO TOOL I NEED TO BUY. So I left. My disappointment is obvious, but not only with the fact that I could not buy the tool I needed that you had in stock and available but that NO ONE cared enough to come fix the problem. The management in that store should of heard the 5 PAGES that went out over the PA system and responded in some manner because apparently there was a problem in the tool area. Just because the store was empty of customers due to the severe weather we experienced and there were more associates in the store than customers does not mean the one customer that was in the store was not important. I will make every effort to avoid that store, I will make every effort to employ “the rule of 20”…..if you don’t know what that is…..if you have a good experience somewhere, you might tell 3 or 4 of your acquaintances….if you have a bad experience, you will tell 20. I hope the email finds its way to someone who will act on it and fix the issue at store # 569 and address store...
Read moreThe customer Service at this location is HORRIBLE. I have to go there 3 times a week minimum, and if its a bigger order, I order online for Pick Up. I get notified its ready, and its usually a few hours before I can break away to go pick it up, and its ALWAYS A Hassle. ALWAYS. Today, I go 8 hours after notified its ready. I get there, go to the same area they load me in all the time, checked in and was asked if Im parked over at the Pick up and I say yes. I sat there for over 30 minutes waiting for my order. I go in to check on it, and no one knows where it is...It was found in the middle of the isle by the Help Desk, just sitting there. I asked to speak with a manager due to constant issues, and the manager doesnt even want to come speak with me. I have to push this big order thru the store to find isles big enough to go down, and asked if theyd at least get someone to help me load it.... Well, no one showed to Help. I wrestled the materials in my truck by myself. Took me an hour and half to "Pick Up" an order that was ready. My company spends just shy of a Million Dollars at HD Yearly, and this is the WORST experience Ive had. And they werent even busy, probably the LEAST amount of people Ive seen in there. Im glad this project is almost done, and I will not have to use this...
