Rude staff. I went to drop off an Amazon return that was in its original box. I was told that the instructions say it needs to be in a box INSIDE of a box. They made me pull up the instruction which only state that the box must be free of any other shipping labels. Not that boxed items couldn’t be used as a box. I was told that I should have inferred from the instructions saying no other shipping label on the box meant in another box. To me, that means no previous label showing as to not be scanned for the wrong destination. When I asked where the instructions say specifically that a box needs to be placed inside another box, the woman working there said ā€œoh, a challenge.ā€ I’ll be using a different UPS store from now on. There were no labels on the box and it was sealed. No where does it say it needs to be packaged in a SEPARATE box from its original box.

After being refused service at the UPS store at 34th and Ella, we took our returns to the store listed in the photo. The UPS store I am reviewing refused to accept my returns in violation of their franchise agreement. The return instructions CLEARLY stated items did NOT need to even be packaged at all. I was refused service due to my item being still in the CLEAR bag in which it was shipped to me. I recommend avoiding the UPS store #6929 on 34th and Ella. Instead, go to the UPS store on 34th at 290, store #2667. They happily accepted my returns. I will follow up this review with a corporate complaint to UPS on franchise #6929 and an accolade for franchise #2667.

This is a nice new facility just south of W. 34th St. on Ella Boulevard. I usually use the UPS Store on W. 19th. Since I was in the area, I stopped at this location. They had four employees with two registers. Only one register was accepting customers. There were six customers standing in line when I left. After I posted this review, I promptly received a reply from the store manager. Apparently at the time I was there, they were having technical problems with other terminal. I appreciate the prompt comment on my review.

I have always had great customer service here until today when an employee took my package, scanned it, then rudely told me UPS doesn't accept anything in a clear package, a policy I was not aware of until today. In fact, the previous week I brought in two items in clear packages and was told nothing. I admit I matched her tone and mannerism when I tried to explain it was how it was sent to me so assumed that is how I send it back but apparently she doesn't like being spoken to the way she speaks to others. She then picked up my package, tossed it at me, and said she wouldn't take it. I admit I was taken aback by her interaction and probably should have matched her rudeness with kindness so I decided to apologize and tried to deescalate the situation. Unfortunately, she didn't care at that point and continued to scold me in front of other customers. Now I have to rectify this situation with the seller since it is showing that the item is being processed as a return. I am really disappointed my this entire exchange as this location is usually really pleasant but personally, I don't feel comfortable returning.

EDIT TO RESPOND TO OWNER: This response makes it clear, as the responses to other negative feedback, that this owner clearly places the onus of any conflict involving their employees squarely on the customer. She has listed the steps she feels I could have taken to de-escalate the situation but somehow neglects to mention ways she feels the employee could have done the same. Let's clear up a few things since you seem to be misinterpreting the situation. First, I could not move to another register since this employee was the only one at the counter at the time. I did request assistance, I specifically asked for the manager at which point the employee told me she was the manager and then sneered at me. I tried calling several times but no one answered the phone. I did stay in the store because I was apologizing to the employee and trying to figure out what actually happened since it escalated so quickly. I DID NOT engage another employee while he was assisting another customer, HE engaged me at the frustration of the other customer. And yes, I did post a negative review of your business as is my right to do so. It is very clear by your response to my review, as well as others, that you take NO responsibility for the actions of your employees which tells me that you yourself are the one who encourages this type of engagement with your customers. Perhaps you and your employees need to consider some training that is no doubt offered by UPS in handling these types of situations in the future. As a matter of fact, I will assist you in this effort by contacting UPS myself and seeking some help for you and your employees. I will NEVER return to the hostile environment you call a store and will instead encourage your employees to seek other employment as I have no doubt they feel your...

BEWARE DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU ARE OUT OF STATE AUCTION BUYER. Unfortunately refered by the auctioneer, I had emailed them to ship a 10x13 small print and specifically stated I need the cheapest route possible since it was a $20 item.

They agreed and picked up. As soon as they picked up they sent a form and wanted my credit card info which was very odd. I said I want the cost for shipping and I will call with card info.

A few days later they said cost to ship a 10x13 item would be $72. $15 for pickup(which it high)$ and $57 for packaging and handling...

They had definitely taken advantage of the fact I was out of state(likely why they wanted credit card info prior)and were very rude when I brought up my cost concern and the verbal agreement when they picked up. I was very clear about what I needed and they chose the most expensive options they could besides express shipment.

We were about to come to agreement on them just sending it in a bubble mailer( I guess a small box and paper or bubble wrap is hard to come by in Texas), then they said they were returning it to the auction house because I definitely wasn't paying $57 for shipping a 10x13x1 item. I understand a pickup fee, even though $15 for such a small item is extreme, especially since they were picking up multiple items and were #1 on the list the auctioneer provided. I guess #1 doesn't mean the most honest.

The person dealing with my shipment was very incompetent, rude and disregarded the entire agreement prior to them accepting pickup. Then they pretty much tried to extort the max amount possible and acted like I wouldn't get my item if I didn't pay them $72. DO NOT EVER PROVIDE YOUR CREDIT CARD TO THESE PLACES WITHOUT A PRICE FIRST!

Thankfully they returned to the auctioneer and they are going to ship it for me. I will just provide the $12 label it truly...

Sometimes its better to walk away then to say something that is not necessary. I tried that today after i was told I could not get a label for Amazon order that was for a label not a scan and go. After being told no I got the paper and proceeded to leave, the guy who wanted to make a statement told me hope your day gets better and not so rude. Triggered me into acting out which I do nor do I condone but today was the day. I proceeded to tell the guy what the problem was I had got told i don't have to be rude I said you should learn your job. I have done this several times with the young lady in the afternoon and the lady with the veil who first gave me the label before when I had an issue with bringing the items without a box and I didn't want to buy a box. She gave me a label and said you can take it to any access point cause all we do is print the label and even though Amazon says it does not need a box that is incorrect. Now back to today. I asked the man for his name he said what is yours. I gave it to him. I said now can I have yours to escalate the concern. He said no. He said where do you work I said what does that matter he said so i can go tell you how to do your job. It was a heated exchange and yes I acted out but that only happens when provoked. This franchise is clearly working on its own rules. I'm sure I will get a response shortly as I can see they like to prove there point so by all means make whatever statement you need it will only help in my formal complaint with UPS directly. Sometimes silence is key like i tried to do rather then rant but you clearly chose this path.

Update: Please review where I was at the door but you chose to make your comments. Again I am only the aggressor when provoked. You had one job in this situation. Silence sometimes is the better option. Thanks and have a...
