One of the only shaded play areas for kids in the late afternoon. When people design parks or redesign parks, it would be nice to account for shade and the angle of the sun over the playground throughout the day. Some of these parks are unusable because they’re so hot and unshaded in summer heat during peak playtime. As for dogs- Apparently, the dog community wishes there was more shade for the pets in the dog run. You used to be able to give your dog a bath here, and then let him or her run afterwards outside but it the hose hasn’t been working for a long time. It used to be great when the dogs would get overheated playing.

This was not a cool dogpark. The location is pretty bad and parking seemed limited even though I was the only one in the dogpark. I guess people in nearby apartments use up all the available parking. There's a nice grassy kids playground next to the dog park so maybe it would be worth a visit if you're taking the little humans to the park. The dogpark itself was just mud and gravel. It's pretty small and there were no poop bags or trashcans inside the dogpark. It looked like there was bags and trashcans outside the park but still odd. I would recommend going to Johnny Steele Dog Park instead.

A beautiful neighborhood park with off-leash dog park and children's play set on the opposite end. A huge open grassy field sandwiched in the middle. There's street parking only. It looks like well-maintained but I can't stand the smell of dog poop.

Rude, incompetent dog owners who don't understand all the responsibilities involved with owning a dog frequent this park. Dogs are poorly trained, allowed to run wild without check, and owners never pick up their dog's waste. There are always piles of crap in the park. Not to mention, people consistently violate leash laws, which are there not just for the protection of someone else's dog against yours, but for your dog against others. We have had countless dogs ignore their owners and come running up to our dogs, one of whom is very skittish around strange dogs and can be aggressive as a result. When my dog growls at their dog, they yell at me, when if their dog had been on a leash like it was supposed to be, it wouldn't have gotten close enough for the issue to arise. I have my dogs on a leash and can pull them away from the situation. I cannot stop the other dog following and making the situation worse.

I would love to avoid the area completely, but that's somewhat hard when you live there. Pepperspray is now always in my hand, and animal control is on speed dial. I will not have my dogs attacked again by dogs owned by...

The dog park section is bedded with large wood chips that are very hard on the pads of dogs that run hard. I stopped bringing my dog here to play catch because the wood was cutting our dog's pads. After a rain there are sections of the dog park that is simply a mud pit and I am sure unhealthy for humans and canines a like. The dog park section as well as the grassy areas and playground is loaded with dog feces, most of the owners simply do not pay attention to their dogs and I guess miss when they are going to the bathroom. Actually that is case for the entire Midtown area, dog feces everywhere. Like someone else stated......
