I picked this place after my former favorite place floated down the bayou in one of Houston’s notorious floods. I liked the location, BW’s generous policy on travel points, and this property’s FREE PARKING. Covid also gave rise to all kinds of new egregious fees and charges at some brands such as paid parking in places were it’s illogical to ask a customer to pay to park, early check in/check out fees, and more hidden charges. I won’t patronize those with ridiculous charges.||Upon checking in this place the guest finds a property that has been kept looking new. Lodging buildings erode quickly, and the owners have to stay on top of it constantly to maintain quality. Far too many of them don’t, and allow their properties to slowly erode, then sell them to another that lets them erode even faster. This place is quite a few years old, and as fresh and new as if it was built yesterday.||My room was in perfect condition, and the only think not working was a burned out bathroom light, which I didn’t ask to be changed. The room has a little microwave oven, a half-sized refrigerator big enough to hold some food w/freezer, work desk, big TV, pull-out divan, and all of it is not scratched, battered, or showing wear. My sheets, towels, beds, and all of those household things new, fresh, and crisp. The room has lighted wall switches which is always appreciated. The internet speed is both remarkable, and symmetrical which is rare.||At breakfast, they actually had something worth eating. Compared to similar brands, they offered a lot more with eggs, bacon, sausage, and prepared tacos. Add to that all of the expected cold items, every imaginable kind of bread, and do-it-yourself waffles, they had a very good selection, and much better than some others.||They still have vending machines, which should turn into a pantry as most quality brands are doing. One might guess I’ve already had trouble with them failing to dispense, and the property doesn’t own them. At least with today’s technology the credit card holder has a voice and can return their un-earned charges to them.||This place also has a beautiful pool with a water feature that actually works. It’s another thing that shows the property cares to keep it’s appearance. THIS PLACE HAS A BOTTLE OPENER on the wall, a throw back to 1965, and I love it. I just wish the soft drink machine dispensed bottles that need an opener – the product tastes better in glass.||What little I have needed from their staff has yielded very professional, caring, and courteous employees. At night they have to guard their parking from the night club next door, leaving the guest having to explain to the guard that you belong here, but it’s no big deal.||They are still a no pets facility, which surprises me as so many others have found non-refundable pet deposits to be the latest way to gouge the customer. This place is CLEAN, and that is evident in every part of the facility from the parking lot to behind the toilet in your guest room. ||I was not pleased to have a family member stopped by the desk and quizzed about his reasons for being here. This is not a locked building, and I consider that to be far beyond security, and more on the nosy side of things. Nobody else gets stopped by the desk at 2PM, and they don’t have justification for stopping anyone. ||I must applaud this place for having 3 trash cans in the room bigger than a shirt pocket. I don’t want to leave a big mess for housekeeping, but similar brands, particularly with kitchenettes very often don’t leave me any place to put trash other than stack it in the corner. They are just making their own housekeeper’s work more difficult, as if there was a place to put the trash I would use it. This place is better than most in similarly...
Read moreI couldn’t wait to get home and write a review. Honestly this hotel deserves a lot of stars! My family and I had a wonderful time here ! We stayed here 3 nights and we honestly wanted to stay some more nights. I have soo many good things to say about this hotel and staff! What stands out the most is how clean this hotel is! The rooms are in good condition! Very clean and the ac is the best ! Elia and all the housekeeping staff was very friendly and very good at work and provided excellent customer service. The security at this place is excellent ! My family and I felt very safe here. The Parking was very convenient and spacious. Mrs. Mary was such a sweetheart helping me with all the questions I had. My checkout time was extended for one more hour which I really appreciate ! Thank you ! ❤️ I was able to print out some papers that I had to sign and send out back to my insurance and I was able to print them just through out my phone and my papers were ready at the front desk where Andrew gave me the papers. He’s very friendly and nice . The breakfast is amazing ! The breakfast tacos were the bomb.com! All of the food provided was good ! A lot of variety and clean. Coffee all day everyday! Delicious 🤤 They even gave us 2 free drinks ! We enjoyed some wine. We weren’t able to enjoy the pool due to the weather was cold for us . But it did have a hot tub. But they do maintain it clean; there were 2 gentlemen cleaning it . But our next time to Houston I will definitely stay here again and take a swim! This will be our go to when we’re at Houston! From the bottom of our hearts thank you to everyone ! ♥️ I can’t remember other staffs names (which I hate myself for it , because all of them deserve to be recognized!) but everyone was nice to me and my family . The staff has excellent customer service very friendly and make you feel...
Read moreWe spent 3 nights at this hotel last week during the storms & freeze in Houston. My first impression of this location was that it was absolutely spotless. Check-in was very easy, handled, we found out later, by one of the nicest & hardest working people we've ever met - Erica, the GM of this location.
The hotel was completely booked. After completing check-in we went to our room. I wouldn't describe it as luxurious, rather very nice, certainly more than adequate. And it was immaculately clean. There was not even that inevitable disinfectant smell found at many hotels.
On Tuesday, our second day, water pressure throughout Houston dropped to zero due to the freezing conditions. Of course this meant we were unable to flush toilets. Erica's solution: dip water from their indoor swimming pool into large wheeled laundry bins and go around to rooms to pour water into commodes to flush. We were also asked to, if we wished, to put one of our trashcans outside our door so that we could "flush" ourselves.
We brought our small dog with us. This was never an issue despite the hotel's no pet policy. But because of this we had to walk the dog 4 - 5 times a day. Whether at 7:00 AM or midnight, we inevitably ran into Erica who always was cheerful, helpful, greeting us by name & always asking if there was anything she could do for us. This woman is a treasure who deserves a raise at best, a large bonus at worst. I cannot say enough about this facility and the folks who run...
