A true suburban bed & breakfast! This bed & breakfast is located close to everything in Downtown Houston. I stayed there when I traveled to Houston, for the 2017 World Series, Dodgers v Astros. Even before I arrived, I received emails, with information about the bed & breakfast, the surrounding area and things to do and see. My flight didn't arrive, into Houston, until after midnight, but I was sent detailed information about how to access the bed & breakfast and what room I was in. Pre-arrival communication was great! The next 3 mornings were GREAT! I got to meet Matthew, the chef, and Genora, one of the owners. Genora was very helpful when sitting at the breakfast table, I realized that I had left my key card in my room. Breakfast was very good, but the best part of breakfast was sitting at the table and getting to meet and talk with different people. The neighborhood where the bed & breakfast is located, is very quiet, safe and we'll maintained. The bed & breakfast itself is very quaint, clean and we'll maintained. There is no staff on duty after 5 or 6, so be sure you have everything you require, before they leave for the day. The rooms are very big, comfortable and clean. I loved the dual rain shower and I especially loved the TV, in the bathroon, which was built into the mirror. I'd never have thought how convenient it is! I'm planning on going back to Houston, for the rodeo & BBQ championship in March and I'm ABSOLUTELY planning on staying at La Maison! I've already been telling friends & family how nice it is and I'd HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who's planning a...
Read moreMy girlfriend Melissa and I just got back home today from a 5 day stay in Houston and we stayed here. My girlfriend was the one that booked it, and I hadn't seen any pictures or anything of it prior to walking in for the first time. I was under the impression that we were staying at a bigger hotel and I was admittedly a little disappointed.....BUT my mind was changed VERY QUICKLY.
One of the owners welcomed us in and showed us around. We felt very welcome right from the get go. They have a chef that cooks breakfast for all of the guest every single day in the morning where you can chat with the owners and other guests that are there. And this is real home cooked breakfast and not just some basic eggs and sausage. The rooms were just the right size and everything was super comfortable. We had the shared balcony, which I enjoyed sitting out on in the morning with my cup of coffee. They had a conference room that guest to use as well that stayed stocked with coffee and water. They had a book in the room that listed off all of the best places to go that were nearby.
I havent even talked about the LOCATION yet. we were legit less than 10 minutes from everything that we came there to see and all of the bars at night were less than 3 blocks away. This location couldn't have been better for our trip. Overall, I would consider staying here every single time we...
Read moreThis was the most uniquely wonderful surprise I've ever had in hospitality! I was looking for a place to stay in Houston that wasn't a generic, forgettable corporate box. La Maison lands at the other end of the spectrum: every detail is beautifully, thoughtfully designed, and the entire experience is rendered with care and love for what they do there.
The proprietors, Sharon and Genora, are welcoming and passionate about providing wonderful hospitality, which they deliver in spades. The rooms are immaculate, comfortable and luxurious. Comfy rocking chairs on the balcony are shaded by just enough tree cover to feel sheltered from the hustle and bustle of the city. Chef Julia (JuJu) conjured up the most magical breakfast I've ever had, by far. Not only is she a delightful person and an enormously gifted chef, she is also brimming with smart, innovative ideas that can change the world.
It felt like a true gift to encounter these extraordinary women in such a magical place. La Maison was the most memorable experience of my visit to Houston, and I hope it continues to thrive for...
