My ten-day stay at MyCrib Hostel in Houston was nothing short of life-changing. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and valued, thanks to the incredible hosts, Harold and Cathy. These down-to-earth individuals made my stay unforgettable, helping me search for work, find events to explore, and introducing me to their favorite local eateries.
Each day was an adventure, and each night was a new opportunity to connect with people from around the globe. The hostel's community atmosphere made it easy to make friends, many of whom I still stay in touch with. We cooked, drank, and debriefed about life together, creating memories that I will cherish forever.
MyCrib Hostel stands out not only for its warm environment but also for its top-tier amenities. The brand-new building offers luxuries typically found in high-end accommodations, yet it's incredibly affordable. The sense of belonging and the genuine care from the hosts made it feel like a home away from home.
One highlight of my stay was visiting Harold and Cathy's personal home for a swimming outing with other hostel guests. This kind of hospitality is rare and truly speaks to their open-armed approach to ensuring everyone has a memorable time.
My stay at MyCrib came at a pivotal moment in my life, having just quit a job that made me unhappy. The experience gave me a fresh perspective on life, seeing how others live and pushing me to try new things. It was my first time staying in a hostel, and it quickly became one of my favorite life experiences.
I cannot thank Cathy, Harold, and the friends I made at MyCrib enough for their incredible hospitality and for changing my life in ways I couldn't have imagined. I'm already planning my next visit, not just to explore Houston again but to reconnect with these amazing people and hopefully embark on a new adventure with Harold.

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at a youth hostel that truly stood out for its exceptional qualities. Nestled in a residential area, its location was incredibly convenient, offering a tranquil retreat just a bike ride away from the city center—less than 10 minutes to be exact. This made for peaceful nights, ensuring a restful sleep in a safe environment. The hostel is run by a delightful couple whose hospitality knew no bounds. They were not only eager to assist with any issues that arose but also went above and beyond by providing bicycles. This thoughtful touch significantly enhanced my mobility around Houston, allowing me to reach various destinations swiftly. What set this hostel apart was the attention to detail and the array of complimentary amenities, including cookies, milk, cereal, coffee, and tea. The cleanliness and smart technology throughout the house contributed to a seamless stay, making it the best hostel experience I've ever had. The bathroom towels folded into swan shapes were a testament to the owners' dedication to detail, adding a touch of elegance and care. The warmth of the place was akin to being at home, with the owners always ready for a chat, eager to answer questions, and share their stories and experiences. A highlight for me was the world map on the living room wall, where guests could pin their home countries—a fun and interactive way to connect with fellow travelers. In summary, this hostel was more than just a place to stay; it felt like a home, or perhaps more accurately, a homestay. It's undoubtedly the best hostel I've ever stayed in globally, blending the comfort of a home with the adventurous spirit...
