I was new to Huntington Beach & had the opportunity to go on my first snorkeling adventure in Catalina Island. I was pressed for time in finding a wetsuits and had ZERO experience or knowledge on where to start. I went into HSS and told them my needs. I met Jordan and the Manager at the desk and they were a great help making me comfortable with wetsuits options and the store itself. Jordan then handed me over to Colby who took the bull by the horns and threw me in every suite he could find till we were out of options. You see, the size I needed was out of stock. He wouldn't give up however, and found my suite at another store. He had it transfer the next day, helped me get into the suite, showed me how it worked, and rang me up for the sale...and just like that I was good to go! Everyone at the store was curious about how I moved to Huntington, what my interests were, and gave me tips and advice on things to do locally and made me feel right at home. And thanks to there quick thinking and customer service...I had an amazing first snorkel at Catalina Island! As I was leaving the store that day, they asked me to come back after my trip and share my photos and experience. The people inside HSS aren't just workers on a sales floor. They are Huntington Beach locals & my go to store & people for surf & fun...and my new friends! Thanks...
Read moreI ordered two gift cards online and haven’t received any status updates after two days. I emailed info@hsssurf.com multiple times but haven’t received a response. When I called the Bella Terra store, the person who answered didn’t make any effort to assist me and simply gave me their admin office number. I tried calling the admin office over the past two days, but no one answered. I also called the 1-800 customer service number, which went straight to voicemail. This experience was incredibly frustrating, and I decided I just wanted to cancel my order.
Fortunately, when I called this store (714-841-4000), a sweet lady named Mary (or Neri) answered. Having worked in the hospitality industry for 17 years, I truly appreciated how she handled the situation. She was very proactive and personally contacted their admin office to cancel my order. Within five minutes, she called me back to confirm that my order had been canceled and that I would see the refund within 2–3 business days. Shortly after our call, I also received a cancellation confirmation email.
Her excellent service recovery made a big difference. Way to go, girl! You’re on the path to be successful in...
Read moreKarl helped me get a wetsuit. I am from Wisconsin so that is not something I am remotely familiar with. He answered all my stupid questions. He educated me on the different types. I told him I wouldnt be in it much so I didnt want to spend a fortune on it but i needed something to keep me warm due to my raynaud's disease. He hit the price point prefectly and he made sure the suit fit right since I didn't know what was right or wrong. I haven't been able to go in the water in two years(even 90 degree water) and I was able to go into the ocean and have fun with my husband. I can't thank Karl enough for helping me get my life back...
