Read morePacific City is an outdoor mall, right across from the beach and is very dog friendly (so fitting since lots of surf city residents have dogs). Plenty of eateries and shops available.
My wife and I stopped by this mall this past Saturday afternoon. We opted to park on the street a few blocks away so that we did not have to worry about keeping time for parking, but parking here is not bad, as long as you have validation (3 hours with validation Monday through Thursday and 2 hours Friday through Sunday. But will cost you $2 every 20 minutes if you have no validation or after your validation). There is also a little lot right in front of Top Bakery though that allows you to park for the 1st hour free. Or you can try parking at the underground structure (where you would need to get your ticket validated if you don't want to pay for parking).
This 2 story mall has 2 large dining halls (one on the first floor and one on the 2nd) where you can find places like The Dude's Brewing Company (sadly dogs are not allowed in these dining halls so no adult libations to try on this visit), Pie Not and Mahogany Smoked meats.
This mall also has plenty of outdoor seating on both levels, which is always nice. Also some things for the kids (or adults) to do like the life size chess board on the 2nd floor by The Backhouse, a kids play area with foam/ padded floors, ping pong tables (I guess you have to bring your own paddles and balls), view finder behind the Old Crow Smokehouse and even photos with Santa (if you come during holiday time. And for those that are interested, that is available now, on...
Read more. UNDERGROUND PARKING HORROR STORY.
The shops and restaurants are fine but watch out for the parking and there horrible staff. I parked in there underground parking, went and shopped around for a little bit, made a small purchase at one of the stores. I didn't realize I needed to have my parking ticket validated with the purchase. I was asked to pay $6 for the 15 min I was there, which first off is ridiculous compared to what you pay at a meter, I pressed the button for customers service and told the staff I was sorry, my bad, I have a receipt if that helps. They told me to bad and hung up. I thought well this sucks but it's fine my mistake I'll just pay the $6 and that's where the real problem started. When I tried to pay with three different cards but the machine wouldn't accept anything. I tried calling the customer service but they would answer only to continually hang up on me. A line started to build up behind me and no one could get out because the machine was busted and the pacific city's employees where refusing to do there jobs. We where there for 15min. I hope who ever that guy was on the other end of the phone gets fired because of tonight. He had one simple job. All he had to do was pick up the phone and just listen, THE THING HE IS PAID TO DO. All in all the experience was awful. Just park on the the...
