Before signing any contract with this company, be aware of any additional fees they include and do not tell the customer.
If you are going to buy from this store, I recommend that you check everything online, on the store's website and after checking it, call. Check everything out and avoid future problems, avoid cars that have paint "protection" and GPS service, they sell these extras together because they can't make any changes, that's what they say. Make sure they don't include these unnecessary items.
Both services are cheaper outside the dealership if you want to have this type of paint protection
The gps service they offer, for an incredible $1000, wanting to create a fear in the customer's mind saying that the car will be stolen and that this service is essential was the biggest lie I've ever heard
You can find the same type of gps and functionality for under $100 on amazon or google
I was very well attended by the seller but don't be fooled by the fake smiles, they have goals and they just want to put as much as they can into their contract
My big problem started when I went home and read my contract again calmly. And I visualized an additional $3,000 in fees. Additional unsolicited maintenance services and items that were added to my car without my request. stay tuned.
When I came back the next day and talked to the finance and sales manager. Their response was “It's signed by you, isn't it?! I can't do anything about it”. The same people who smiled at me the day before the contract was signed. and just 24 hours after signing the contract with an additional $3,000, they completely changed their stance when I confronted them. And believe it or not, I informed them that the previous dealership I bought a car with made a totally dishonest contract to hire various additional services, and told them everything they did to me. they said it wouldn't happen in their store, but they did the same. pure illusion. reseller is reseller, they will hardly change their attitude towards customers. After much emotional stress, the store manager approved a refinancing of my vehicle, but removed only the GPS from the costs, not the paint protection.
And believe me, a miracle happened, the sales manager had said before that the gps could never be removed from the car, but after the store manager removed the gps from my contract, miraculously (ironically), the sales manager removed the gps from the car. simple plug.
The sales team is loyal to each other and disloyal to the customer, my experience was the worst possible, the focus should be on customer satisfaction not just hitting targets and earning money in an unfair way deceiving your customer
I sent an email to nissan usa and everyone who could read what they did, I never go back to this store and I don't recommend it to anyone from my social cycle.
They have competitive prices and good cars, that's what brought me to this store, maybe it's the same for you, but like I said if you go shopping with them read everything first don't sign anything until you clarify any points you have.
And to finalize a piece of advice to the managers of this store, don't think that deceiving your customer is the best alternative to get more profit, it has the opposite effect when the lie is discovered. causes revolt and repulsion.
Focus on your customer's satisfaction and if you want to sell anything additional be clear and tell the truth don't hide information. Be loyal to...
Read moreI normally don't write reviews, but I had a super bad experience for my big purchase at Surf City Nissan:
They made it seem like the price we received was an amazing price, as it was well below the inflated sticker price, however after we looked on their website, that same exact car (by vin number) was going for the price we eventually paid. So we didn't get any discounts, we just got the online price and they would not negotiate because the sales manager said he already marked it down so much. Tip: if you must buy a car from here, look at their online prices for that same car!!
After we negotiated the price and shook hands, and were 2 hours into the purchasing process, they told us that the car was involved in two incidences based on their carfax record. Super shady they did this AFTER we agreed on the price. I expressed my concerns and they seemed willing to work with me to remediate. I asked for 5 oil changes, but they gave me 1 oil change, 1 car wash (it is free with their oil change anyway..), and 1 key chain (super insulting they offered a $2 key chain to solve our problem). Tip: If you must buy a car from here, ask for the Carfax report prior to negotiating price.
We secured financing prior to coming in to purchase, however they still forced us to go through a full formal financing application (my guess is so they can try to sell us their loan). We got a better rate than they tried selling us, and we told them, however they were still trying to get us to go with their loan. This dragged out the purchasing process for extra hours necessarily, and hurt our credit because they had to do a credit inquiry (according to their "policy"), even though we did not want to go with their financing, or even apply for their financing options. Tip: be a bit pushier saying "no" than we were if you don't need their financing and do not let them check your credit if there is absolutely no need, so it doesn't hurt your credit score.
A few days after we got our "Certified" pre owned car, we noticed a broken tail light. This is a basic thing that should have been caught, and their certification process is just a guy going through a checklist and checking everything off (which he may or may not actually check). They were able to fix the tail light after I called and informed them, but I had to drive out to Huntington Beach again, and my confidence in their certification process is still lost. Tip: If you're buying a certified pre-owned car from them, it may still be worthwhile to get it checked out by a trusted mechanic shortly after...
Read moreI DON'T RECOMMEND ANYBODY TO USE SURF CITY NISSAN'S SERVICE CENTER ANYMORE.
UPDATE ON MY SITUATION….
All of the stress with Surf City Nissan had caused me to have asthma attacks that I didn’t know about until I went to the doctor (my childhood asthma became a slow-to-progressive full blown attack without me knowing).
My car is currently not safe to drive. The gas pedal keeps on depressing without any acceleration (all out of the blue).
My car was the only vehicle and most reliable/easy mode of transportation to take my mom to her procedures and doctor’s appointments. We’re trying to get my car fixed for next week = her transplant appointment with all the people and teams involved for her transplant. With my current situation and using families’ cars (that are difficult for her to ambulate into/onto).
In addition, she’s been having problems with her dialysis graft due to the stress of my car problems; and she’s been holding off taking her to doctor’s appointments to check it out because she’s not comfortable in any other vehicle (but mine). I’ve been using a family’s vehicle and she’s been tired after every trip and in and out of the vehicle.
Surf City Nissan has been quiet after stating that they’re only willing to cover the labor costs and charge me all parts’ costs.
Nissan Corporate is willing to only cover parts and transmission fluids but not labor costs.
Outside auto repair shops have informed me that my car is still too new for them to order the specific transmission for my car.
If I could give negative stars, I would.
During hard and trying times, I guess anybody will come after you. Even when you use your vehicle to transport people to medical appointments.
I trusted them throughout the years (even though they're not that great and miss little things here and there). But recently, I have lost total trust in them when they gave me my car back with missing screws, damaged my oil cap, and cut one of my tubes (and not even trying to fix it and/or reconnect it back)... and... they've tried to have me change my transmission (after they botched my car). They didn't even tell me that they messed up my car, damaged my transmission (either purposely or accidentally. I have a strong feeling that it’s purposely because they keep on pushing me to change my transmission), missed parts, etc.
Pictures are attached.
I forgot to add (because it was too low for me to take pictures): there were screws from underneath my car (where my car's oil was changed) were missing and had to...
