Idyllwild Brewpub — Attraction in Idyllwild-Pine Cove

A few Months ago I came to this Restaurant to try it out, upon arrival I was Seated, given a Menu and a Pitcher of Water and Glass. About 40 Minutes went by, NO ONE EVER CAME to Check on me or Take my Order, I had an Appointment, so I simply got up and Left. Today is 8/5/2023, I was in Idyllwild and my Wife suggested going to this Place. I thought to give this Establishment a 2nd Chance, upon arrival, I had to Wait about 45 Minutes to be Seated (even though there were MANY Vacant Tables), then I finally got Seated, my Servers Name was 'Stephen', he seemed Polite, he took our First Order for Drinks and brought them a Few Minutes Later in a Timely Manner. My Wife and I enjoyed our Drinks for about 10 Minutes and were Ready to Order Food, Stephen NEVER Came Back to Check On Us or Take our Order, we Continued to Wait another 30 MINUTES, making it a Total of about 40 MINUTES from the time we Arrived and Stephen NEVER Came Back even though he would CONSTANTLY Check on the Tables Next to us. We finally Flagged him down and placed our Order, we waited another 30 Minutes for our Food, Stephen AGAIN NEVER CAME BACK. Again we Flagged him down 15 Minutes before Closing Time to Ask about our Food, he said he'd Check and walked away, he Returned about 5 Minutes later and said he had FORGOTTEN to put in the Order! So we were Literally at this Restaurant for 2.5 Hours and NEVER got Served a Meal. Not sure if this Establishment is not Hispanic People friendly or what, but all I know is I'm...

Came here in part because of the many positive reviews but that certainly was not my experience. Overall, the menu is uninspired, just basic burgers and fried stuff. Expensive ($9+/pint), mediocre beers. Cobb salad has peas instead of avocado, obvious money-saving move but not doing them any favors. Salmon was tiny, farmed, and quite bland. Dressing was watery.

The worst part was the service. Not sure if our waitress was having a bad day but she was unbelievably rude. The salad was underdressed, I'm talking bone dry, so went to ask for more dressing on the side. She never came back to check in, so I got up and approached her at the staff station where she was on her phone. Asked for the dressing and explained the situation and she just blankly stared at me and with a certain tone said she'd "get right on it." 20 minutes pass since she brings the dressing and we still haven't been checked on, and all we wanted was the check. I told my gf that I wasn't going to approach her again, so she went up to the staff station and asks if we can get the check. The waitress looks her up and down and again with the tone says "uh huh." I pay cash but when she brings the change, it's just bills, she just decided for whatever reason we didn't need the coin change, which was about 40 cents. Maybe she just assumed I'd be leaving it as part of her tip, which I thought that was strange but was glad to leave. I can't in good conscience recommend this...

Didn't give this place 5 stars because of: 1. The limited seating, which I'm sure had to do with it being a Saturday night, but it's seat yourself and there really aren't that many tables. 2. The lack of high chairs for my toddler. (We asked the waitress for one and she said she wasn't sure they had any, and she never came back with one...) And 3. The fact that there are no vegan options on the menu unless you count the fries. The one vegetarian meal me and my husband would have ordered that we had seen when we previewed the menu the week before, the black bean burger, was unavailable. So it was disappointing that there wasnt anything my family could order for dinner. Not sure if we'd come back for anything more than a beer unless the menu changes a bit. Even a vegan dessert would be appreciated, then we could come for an after dinner thing. On the plus side the place looks great! And it definitely has a fun vibe. We've been looking forward to it's opening for so long and the intention of this place is so cool and very promising.
