I cannot believe this place is still around. This was once a go to spot in Jackson but it's has become, by far, the worst restaurant I have ever been to. I'll start with a few months ago. Me and my husband went on a date night. The place was not busy at all. While our waitress was attentive, she was also quite rude. Our food took forever and she kept putting the blame on other people. It got to a point where I had to tell her how unprofessional it is to constantly blame other people and that we really didn't care who's fault it was, we just wanted our food. We also asked to speak to the manager which she refused to bring over and claimed he wasn't there. Now, let's go back to 2 days ago. Me and my husband decided to give Bella Notte another chance and went there for our lunch break. There were about 6-8 people there including us. We waited about 15 minutes before somebody came and took our order. About 15 minutes after that the waitress comes to tell us that don't have my husbands food, so he orders something else. about 30 minutes after that my husband asks where our food is and we're told "oh, they're making the fries right now"... Umm, shouldn't that have been done 30 minutes ago? Somewhere in there I asked the waitress if they still serve bread. She responds with "Oh you want bread?" Seriously?!?!?! I shouldn't have to ask for something that is supposed to be included with the meal. We finally get our food and they put tomatoes on my Gyro. I tell the waitress I can't have tomatoes (I asked specifically without them when I ordered) and she says "Oh, it was the kitchen, not me". Me and my husband are mad at this point. We literally were not able to eat because of our job requirements. We ask to speak to the manager and he promptly comes over. He was very nice and apologetic. Here's where it really get's interesting. Over at the bar was a man and a woman. The woman kept going into the bar and serving herself drinks. My husband asked the manager who that was over there and he responds that it is the owner. So my husband asks to speak to her ensuring that the manager is not a problem at all. So he goes over there to tell her that we want to talk to her and she flips out on him! She is in his face to the point where this poor guy is backing up because she's so mad. She finally comes over to talk to us and this is the gist of what she said. "You know kids nowadays don't know how to do anything. They can't follow directions or make choices. I admit that I'm in trouble here but these kids blah blah blah, and the road has really effected my business and blah blah blah" And she goes on blaming her servers. She then says this, and I quote "Who waited on you? Was it the little black girl?" We responded with "yes". Then she says "Exactly, need I say more?" I don't know if that was a descriptive comment or a racist comment but there was no need for any of it!. She ended up giving us a $20 gift certificate and our food for free. We left the certificates there. You could not pay me to go back. It's that awful that I would have rather paid triple of what the food was listed for and had somewhat good service. To end everything, I got back to work and took 1 bite from my lamb gyro. It ended up being a cheap grilled hamburger patty...
Read moreDon’t go here. Salad and bread were good, and Pasta dish was good as well, but the Ahi & Snapper dishes were mediocre at best. We ordered a bottle of Barbera red wine and we’re served in dirty glasses. When I complained, they brought out new glasses and said they’d make good on the first 2 glasses. When we finished the bottle, I asked for 2 glasses of the same wine, but was told by the “manager” that this was only available by the bottle. When I explained that it was their dirty glasses that brought us to this situation, he said he couldn’t open another bottle just for 2 glasses. When I kept pressing, he relented and said OK, he’d open another bottle and pour us 2 glasses. The waiter brought out 2 glasses that were obviously not Barbera (much darker, richer), so he tried to pawn off what he had from an open bottle as Barbera. When I challenged them on it, another “manager” came out. I asked him who he was and he said “I’m the man”, when i asked again he reiterated “I’m the man, what can I do”. I asked if he was the manager (he was dressed in a black t-shirt and big silver chain), he said yes. When I asked who the other person was who said he was the manager, I was told he was the “bar manager”. After a bunch of back and forths he asked what he could do to make things right and my wife said “comp the bottle”. He pushed back, but finally relented. Totally frustrating experience and we will not be back. I worked in a restaurant for many years & part-time managed as well and can’t believe this type of service....
Read moreDo not give these people your business! My son and friends went here for prom two nights ago. They made a reservation 2 weeks ahead of time, called a week out to change the time for 45 minutes later. They arrived on time and were seated. Ordered their food straight away. 1:30 minutes later still no food. The wait staff was asked multiple times where the food was, no explanation, apology, offer of an appetizer, etc. 1:45 later they finally received their food. When asked about a discount due to the wait, they were told initially they would be receiving one by the manager. Then, the owner came to the table (Greg, Carl…???) and quite rudely said they would not be getting a discount but, could have free dessert. After waiting that amount of time they had no desire for dessert. Then he proceeded to tell them 1:45 was not too long to wait for 15 meals and that they were 45 minutes late anyway; AND that of they didn't pay the police would be called. NO. First of all, someone on the restaurant end screwed up switching their time change and second of all, at this point they didn't even have their bills let alone were they attempting to skip out on them. If it takes you 1:45 to prepare 15 meals, you should not be running a restaurant. I am disgusted at how 15 kids out for what should have been a great night, were treated. Good kids, honor roll students, top of their class students. Do not judge a book by its color. I'm sure you saw 15 teenagers and figured, "no tip from these punks". Shame on you...
