A summary of this place . I don't want to go in to detail on what my experience was at this place but i rather give you key points. So they have a vast variety of plants for the most part healthy looking and I'm sure you can find what you are looking for . The prices are high way to high from other shops around the area . Almost double the price on some plants . For example some that I paid $5 at another place they have them there for $15 . Even on accessories like pots and plates for pots. The last things is customer service , this was not good maybe that day was a bad day for the worker but they were just rude very rude. My advice is look around for better prices and better customer service . There's a few shops i already go to around the area and saw this and decided to come back on a different occasions and no thank you I will definitely cross this place out on places to buy my plants .

Edit : In response to the owner , well when I was there I wasn't helped in any way which is fine I don't mind being left alone to pick out stuff. When I was getting ready to leave the inside of the place there was a lady and her mom there with kids that came in with a stroller . My girlfriend and I were trying to exit but there was no space since the ladies mom was blocking the exit with the stroller and they were talking to each other . We decided to give it some time before we could say excuse me and not interrupt them in a rude manner . Then the employee working there said to us is a rude manner "if you need to move just say excuse me ". I mean she also seemed annoyed because the lady with her mom went in to the register with a wagon of plants she was buying . Like a previously stated before maybe she was having a bad day and thats understandable but that was my experience with your place unfortunately and that's why I wrote about it . And as far as prices go that's fine to have your price set and all but since its a review I can also state my experience with other places small shops too that are part of the community and get plants form small growers their prices are lower. I'm not talking about big chains like home depot or menards. As far as trying to compete for prices I mean you have your customers that keep coming back to you and obviously like what you guys offer but once again since this is a review I'm stating my opinion to different plant places I have been to and the different experiences I have had and this place was not a great one . Maybe I just went on the wrong day . All I can do is share my experience and hopefully others don't go...

I am not from Chicago, but this shop was recommended to me by a local friend, so I came by to check it out. I drove up, saw a sign pointing to parking, and pulled into the far back gate, when some men in the lot started hollering at me and waving at me, incoherently. I was told "no parking" here, which is confusing, because the gate was open and the big green sign outside the business is pointing right into the lot stating "PARKING"... A rather rude greeting from the men, making me feel as if I did something wrong, when I was just following signs. There was huge bags of trash all over the place and my car didn't make it far anyways, so my mistake was made apparent rather quickly.

I proceeded inside, and the shop was lovely enough. I was looking for a Raven ZZ, and was pointed to the back hallway where there stood one, extremely sad looking, $100+ Raven. For that price, the plant should at least look good, this thing was terrible looking! I was also sad to see only one of them, but I get they might not be available, so no worries there.

As I was checking out the smaller ZZ plants on the shelf against the wall, which looked great and were priced well, there was a huge commotion in the room directly behind me, that sounded like some women arguing loudly enough that I could hear exactly what they were saying, and was a huge deterrent to my shopping experience. It wasn't pleasantries by any means, but straight up arguing and yelling at each other, bordering on screaming at each other.

A really uncomfortable shopping experience. I promptly left the premise without buying anything.

The only redeeming factor was the kindness and warmth of the girl watering plants when I walked in. She was super friendly and chipper and was a nice cushion that softened the abrasiveness of the initial experience with parking, and the shouting in the back that made me walk out the door. Two stars for that girl, otherwise would have been a 1...

I love the place but unfortunately this year every single plant that I bought had an infestation of some sort. Outdoor annuals I got spider mites, aphids, and fungus gnats. With the indoor plant (calathea) that I bought I got soil mealy bugs. I may have gotten the aphids with a plant from another store, though I know for certain that I got the other infestations from this store. With most of my plants I had powdery mildew. I’m concerned for all of my other indoor plants. I’ve just let my outdoor plants live out their lives because I tried my best to treat the infestations, to no avail. I’m sure most plant stores have this problem, it’s hard to control these pests but after I knew what to look for it was easier to spot. I think it would be a good idea for the staff to check regularly and sell healthy plants rather than leave us find out the hard way. Like I said, I love the store and the staff are great but this year’s selection just brought so many problems with it for me. Fingers crossed for a better...

They had a pink princess philodendron but it wasn't for sale. Don't really know when they'll get another one staff didn't seem very friendly but I bought a plant hopefully I can help it do a little better. Edit. In response to store. I was greeted/approached when another couple walked in and I asked about the plant. I waited at the counter to finish my purchase for a while bc no one was there and the sales associates were stocking and talking amongst themselves. Never said it was a bad place just out of the three places I went today this was my least favorite. I really loved Gethsemane Garden Center in Andersonville. And they had way more for way better prices. And they told me they do have the pink princess cuttings but won't be available for a little while longer. And the fiddle leaf figs in the store also were kind of expensive for how they were doing. As well as a few other plants. I ended up buying mine at Gethsemane and a rubber tree. And I got Monstera at Chicago plant shop (which was ok).

Stumbled upon this place while going back home from another plant shop nearby. Did free parking on the street. They have so many outdoor plants - it was amazing to see all the flowers. They have an indoor section as well. Unfortunately these are priced so high, Its kinda ridiculous. Micans in nursery pots for like 25$, Cebu blue pothos for 55$ish, really ? So many examples like this. Felt like they didn’t give any value for your money and the owners are unaware of whats rare. Ive been in the hobby for so many years and Ive been to most plant places in the area. So i know what I’m talking about. Really disappointed. I ended up buying a Philodendron Melanochrysum for 65$ish. They also have so many options for other plant stuff - ceramic pots, watering cans, cute planters, soil, wind chymes, etc. Unfortunately, I wont be coming back.

Really appreciate having a local garden shop nearby with knowledgeable staff. I came in with an empty planter and the woman who helped me put together a beautiful arrangement. So much better than a big-box garden store. Lots of pretty pots and accessories as well. Expensive, but willing to pay extra to support local businesses and for the quality of their plants/service.
