Been meaning to write this review for a while. Overall score 9.6 In depth review as follows:
Equipment, 9/10: Good selection of machines and plenty of free weights. Condition of all equipment is great, seems like a pretty new gym. Benches are super firm, dumbbells/barbells have great knurling and all machines are operational. There was a point where the lat pull down machine was not pulling very smoothly but it got repaired within a few days. Plenty of good machines for leg work and back work (major plus for having a t-bar row). Chest machines personally feel a bit clunky to me so -.2. Biggest drawback for me is that there are no machines for arm work, so -.8. Im able to isolate my arms better on machines so I was a bit disappointed there, but again plenty of free weights to find a work around.
Hours of operation 10/10: standard gym hours and google accurate. I visited around 3-4pm most days and I was able to have very quick and efficient lifts. Generally, the gym is not too crowded so major plus if you’re on a time crunch.
Cleanliness, 9.9/10: super clean and organized gym, with little to no smell. You can frequently see the staff cleaning the equipment and the members themselves clean up the machines & rerack the weights. -.1, hyper specific but sometimes I catch a wiff of a really bad smell on the hip thrust machine, I can only equate it to being fishy… comes with the territory of that machine though and if you don’t have a sensitive sense of smell I’m sure it’ll be fine for most people.
Price for membership seems slightly cheaper than other gyms in the area. All in all, a great gym to go to for daily use and would...
Read moreFriendly staff, and for the most part, respectful and mindful members. My main complaint is with the equipment and machines, many of which regularly go out of order and continue to have the same problems even after being fixed.
The worst offender is the leg extension machine. The seat can't even be adjusted, even when it is "working" and heavier weights stop being smooth. It really just needs to be replaced.
Other issues: some resistance machines and cables get janky at random weights. For example, the assisted pull up machine. If you set it between 88 to 99 lbs resistance, after a few reps the weight will suddenly feel much heavier and lose its smoothness.
On top of that, some of the cables supporting the free motion cable machines are punctured, which makes most exercises on them awkward and uncomfortable.
I appreciate the gym for what it is and where it is located, and I don't mind paying for the convenience. I just wish the equipment was better maintained for the price I'm paying. The lack of upkeep is disappointing.
EDIT: Since I left this review they've changed every machine I've commented on and seem to be continually bringing in updated equipment. Really appreciate this, it has made for a much better and more valuable...
Read moreThis is a great gym. The platform area has everything you need for squat/bench/deadlift- even a trap bar, safety bar, and one of those lever things that levers the bar off the floor for loading. The machine area is very thoughtfully curated with machines you might not expect in a gym this size, including chest-supported T-bar row, belt squat (!!!), hack squat, and lying leg curl. The pressing machines are the good kind you load with plates.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and as others have mentioned they keep it very clean.
Very glad to have this gym in the neighborhood.
P.S. i don't think they advertise it but their $20 day pass is actually a 24-hour pass so you can get 2 workouts in if you...
