EDIT: Following your response to my review, I thought I'd edit here.
I am shocked to hear that you're shocked we were unhappy as we have numerous emails with your management team expressing our dissatisfaction.
You did in fact charge me extra for a new apartment. We had to switch from an 18 month lease to a 12 month lease in order to afford it because there was 1 Free Month included.
I did not misunderstand factual information. According to the legislature you are required to have us sign a form informing us that we cannot park on the street with the monthly parking rate on that form. You did not do so. In fact, I confirmed this with the township of Jersey City.
I always knew that I'd be writing a review but of course did not want to leave one until we had our security deposit back. Hence also why we claimed that we were happy while leaving. You were informed numerous times prior to that that we were unhappy. I left the review following a conversation with multiple other tenants who had the SAME ISSUES.
Your representative called me NUMEROUS times and then asked me to please remove my review after attempting to argue my experience. Shameful business tactic. Other future tenants should be well aware that this is the type of organization you'd be dealing with.
I can share email quote too...
"At this point, I am interested in breaking the lease here at 333 Grand. I have had a really negative experience, both with the building and the staff and I don't feel the relationship can be fixed."
"I currently donât plan on staying here starting next week as Iâm not able to sleep and just started a new job. Itâs really not acceptable that a brand new tenant is forced to pack up a suitcase and stay elsewhere."
I'd love to be able to share the email responses from your team, but considering they rarely answered any of my numerous emails or concerns, there's not much to share..
I've lived in quite a few apartment buildings and this was absolutely my least favorite. There were a lot of errors throughout our move-in process that forced us to load up a truck, be denied moving the bulk of our items in, to then have to drive back home & unpack only to do the whole thing over a few days later. When I moved into the apartment, there was a giant crack throughout the entire window, chips in the bathtub, the walls are all wonky - it is not a well made building. They were so proud of their double windows to ensure no noise, yet I could hear the crosswalk beeping incessantly while I tried to sleep. Then their AC unit made horrific noises even when it was off throughout the night. I sent multiple videos of my 3am experiences with this horrific noise (happy to share upon request!). They told me they could not do anything about it because they had to experience it in person and informed me next time it happened at 3am, I would have to wake up, walk down stairs, request someone to come up, only to listen in person to the exact same noises I had shared via video. Finally I threatened to break the lease and they informed me that they had an apartment available ... for more money. We sucked it up and switched. Then while I was researching how to get a parking pass in Jersey City, I was informed that I couldn't because I live in a high rise. I found that interesting and did more research into the legislature and learned that 333 Grand had broken the law. They are legally obligated to inform tenants that they will not be able to park on the street and sign a form saying they acknowledge this and know the price per month to park. Additionally this glorious roof we were told about - was never built, we had no access to the roof and there was no discount on rent for losing out on a major amenity. They locked all of their grills so you have to put in a request to use them - they're also only available about 2/12 months! Constant construction. It's not worth it, you can get so much bang for your...
Read moreI lived on the 4th floor and overall had a good experience. The apartment itself was clean and well-maintained, with updated appliances. The front desk staff, utility workers, and cleaning team were always very nice and helpful.
Getting in touch with office management about minor things by email was difficult. I understand they probably receive a lot, but responses were slow. I reached out three times, by both phone and email, about pool passes, but never received them. That said, it wasnât a huge issue since the key fob provides access to the deck, and I was never asked to show a pass.
Now, for some of the cons of living in this apartment. The windows are not great; they donât block out much sound. Since I lived on the front-facing side of the building, I could hear everything. Of course, I expected to hear the louder noises like car engines and alarms, but it was surprising that I could also hear smaller sounds, like the pedestrian crossing signal, very clearly whenever someone crossed the street.
Another issue, which I know other residents faced as well, is that the windows and heating system donât retain heat. During the winter months, the apartment gets very cold, so the electricity bill ends up being high.
Some cons about the area and tenants: while not direct negatives of 333 Grand, theyâre worth noting. The building is about a 12-minute walk to Grove Street, which can get tiring, and reaching NYC or Newport takes a good chunk of time. The light rail outside is also rarely on schedule.
It also became pretty obvious that many residents here are entitled and lack consideration for others. For example, using the amenity areas without reserving them through the apartment app. Many also left their trash and belongings behind, expecting staff to clean up after them.
Another issue is with pet owners. Many let their dogs relieve themselves around the building and donât clean up. The entrance often smells like urine. Maintenance does wash the area, but responsibility is on the owners.
Overall, living in the apartment was good, but I mainly moved because of...
Read moreI have been living here for a year now and I want to share my experience. I will explain both the positives and the negatives to provide a fair review.
Pros: It is a beautiful new building with great amenities. They clean the apartment spotless before you move in. Since everything is almost brand new, you don't encounter many issues (i.e. break downs, cloaking, etc.). Great gym, pool, grills, common spaces, 13th floor rooftop is amazing. You will enjoy all the amenities a lot. Location is convenient, you are close to Path, Light Rail, JC downtown, Liberty State Park, etc. The apartments have high ceilings, large windows, nice kitchen cabinets, and bathroom vanities, etc.
Cons: If you are facing Jersey Ave/Grand Street, it is very noisy. There are so many loud cars (modified with aftermarket exhaust) passing by all the time, day and night, waking you up all the time. Hospital adds to it too, there are some people visiting hospital who make noise, argue loudly or just yell or sing loudly without any reason. The internet is through Gold Coast Broadband (you don't have any other option), I think it is a good internet, I haven't experienced any major disruptions but some people want to have choices which you don't have here. And now the biggest con is that the dog pee in front of the building. Unfortunately, pet owners just let their dogs pee right in front of the building. Now we have pools of pee in concrete and it smells terrible all the time. You can understand that no one wants to smell that walking out of their building. No matter how much people love dogs, why should they live with the stink of other people's pets' waste. And the property management is doing nothing about this despite our several requests. Apartment complexes must have required standards or cleanliness and sanitation. We are expected to be given a waste-free odor-free environment by the property management. We definitely lost sanitary for this building.
I hope this review was helpful. As I said I tried to be fair but for me the cons are more than the pros I receive here, hence the...
