Jersey City Lash Bar (Nails & Lashes) — Local services in Jersey City

I used to like this place, but now you couldn’t pay me to come back. I showed Hannah how I wanted them to look (photo with direct comparison of the wispy long curly lashes I wanted versus the super full cat eye I left with and explicitly didn’t want). I’ve never left a place with something so drastically different than what I previously got at that same studio and which I showed them a photo reference for. When I spoke with her about it, she said she added more “because everyone always wants more afterwards”. I absolutely did not, and I couldn’t have made it more clear. When I first saw them, they were uneven, over full, and not at all what I wanted. My eyes were so dreadfully red and were for over 5 days (other photo for reference). They quickly fell off (thank God, but also what a waste of money). The lashes felt crusty and dry. Hannah to her benefit offered to fix them afterwards, but you couldn’t pay me to come back after my visual and verbal instructions were completely disregarded and the glue used had a horrific reaction (I’ve been seen multiple times here with other technicians and never had this bad of a reaction to glue). Safe to say, I won’t be coming back - both because my instructions were ignored and the tech thought she knew best and overrode my request and because the hygiene clearly wasn’t there. The photos show just that despite repeated cleanings and eye drops (literally like once an hour). It was humiliating to go to work looking like I had cried for 3 days straight and it regularly...

Very unhappy with the result of the lash lift. This was my first time visiting Jersey City Lash Bar and would be my last time. They over processed my lashes and they are fried up. They didn’t curl up from the root either, so it doesn’t look lifted up at all. I just wish I could get refund for this result.

Edit based on the response from the owner: I never bombarded the store's email. Indeed, I never sent any emails to the store after the service. The only thing that I did was to leave this review. I never asked the store for refund. I never received further communication from the store about a complimentary fix or a photo as a proof. I also did only lash lift. I did not do lash tint. The fact that the owner's response mentions lash tint implies that the owner is not aware which customer they are...

I can’t say enough good things about my experiences at Jersey City Lash Bar. I’ve always gone for lash lift and tint but more recently I got to experience a russian mani with GUL—her work is beautiful, detailed, and always leaves me feeling so put together. She’s still learning and growing in some of the more advanced techniques, but you’d never know it from the quality and care she puts into her work. What makes it even better is how comfortable and welcoming she makes the experience. Every appointment feels like I’m catching up with my best friend, not just getting my lashes or nails done.
