The reviews really hyped me up for this experience, but I found myself really disappointed and only left with about 4 items in my bag.
The bakery case was half empty at like 11am, only the same 3 flavors of cake over and over. The egg tarts were pre bagged, tiny and not fresh, cracked on the top.
The hot food section was half closed, with very small variety, nothing like the pictures in the reviews, I was very sad because that's what I came here for. I wanted all the nice pretty dim sum in the pictures but there was nothing.
The dumpling section was kinda small, nothing really appealing. The whole frozen section was kind of a miss really.
The thing that really stuck out was the absolutely abysmal produce section. The vegetables were wilted and wrinkled. A pint of strawberry was $7 dollars shocking 😳 and they were old and leathery. They had "pink pineapple" that was completely rotten with green mold on it FOR $11 A PINEAPPLE! That is criminal, and they should be ashamed.
I was able to find Taiwanese pineapple cookies which was nice, and I bought raspberries because my grandmother wanted, but when we ate, they had rotten flavor and we had to throw them away.
Another disappointment was the instore bubble tea shop. They have the worst selection of teas and NO POPPING BOBA only tapioca. So what to put in my fruit tea? Tapioca? Yuk!
I made a special trip from 3 towns away to shop here, never again! The pictures are a lie, they have changed since...
Read moreThe customer Sevice was horrible. I work with the public so I’ m always conscious of how I treat people when I’m on the other side of the desk. I’m not too familiar with the location of products so I have to ask the workers for assistance. A few men that were stocking in the frozen department were very HELPFUL, a bit of a language barrier but I know a little Spanish so it worked out perfectly. I went to the seafood department and showed the guy behind the counter a photo of the fish I wanted and he said he’d help me find it, there was a second fish I wasn’t familiar with and I asked for assistance again, he told me doesn’t know, walks away and when I asked him to please show me he took off his apron and went to the back. I asked another worker, she said she’ll help me after the customer she was helping. When she was done, she was walking over to me and was called by three other customers who came after me, she decided to help them first and make me wait. I’m not one to complain but my experience in this store was the worse. I asked another worker for help, just to point me into the direction for the product I was looking for he got annoyed I guess because he was texting on his phone I disturbed him. Please teach your workers to assist ALL of your customers with friendliness and professionalism. I felt so out of place and ignored at this location. The guys in the meat department was awesome, they actually walked me to the items I was looking...
Read moreWe had high hope for 99 ranch because the location is super convenient for us. But it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The produce session is not very fresh for most of the time. Nonetheless we still shop there occasionally, especially when we didn't have time to go to other good Asian supermarkets during weekends.
Yesterday morning my nanny bought some fruits and vegetables for us and the receipt total came out as $41.65. She felt quite strange because she didn't buy a lot. So she took out kitchen scale and weighted every item. It turned out many items on the receipt had incorrect weight( higher of course). She went back to the store and confronted them. One person claimed to be store manager talked with her and gave some lame excuse. Anyway they recalibrated the scale and remeasured everything.
Below is the comparison between two receipts: Tomato: original receipt 1.53lb vs new receipt 0.92lb Grape: original 2.76lb vs new 2.14 lb Green bean: 2.06 lb vs 1.41lb Cauliflower: 2.76lb vs 2.10lb Tangelo: 3.17lb vs 2.05lb For tangelo they also put incorrect unit price. The label was 0.99$ per lb, they charged 1.99$ per lb.
The new receipt total is $28.90 vs the original total $41.65. There were two box of tofu we didn’t return and rebuy. basically the charged 39$ for 28.90$. It's such a rip off!
Btw: to apologize, they gave 5% discount for this transaction. That's...
