I love this Michael's!! Very rarely (I think TWICE in the last DECADE, and one was on Christmas Eve, so I was probably the a-hole for shopping on CHRISTMAS EVE, and deserved the slight exasperation the cashier doled out) {Annnnd, repeat for those who forgot the "first two" words} Very rarely have I run into an employee with a less-than-stellar attitude. I'm in this store so often that I already know where everything is, but if I get lost they have really handy signs at the ends of each aisle AND you can use the app as a map through the store, thereby eliminating the need to ever speak with another human again unless I CHOOSE!! That's my favorite thing! I've never had a problem in this store, and I've never spent less than an hour walking through the aisles in a single trip. So it's not like I'm ever just in-and-out and haven't had a chance to have a bad experience. My average trip here lasts three hours. Do I feel a little pathetic to admit this out loud? Maybe... But it's relevant information for this review, I think. I have definitely had plenty of opportunity, but have never been unhappy here. I don't even feel judged when I notice them noticing me spending hours in there. The employees are always lovely. I can't wait to go back! Hahaha! And I need to give a shout out to my cashier today, Liliana, and the manager with the fire-engine-red hair for approving! I was a complete Karen earlier when I walked in for my online pickup, immediately returned everything I had picked up, then rebought every item and then some, because the sale changed today to an even better deal! Thank you sooo much for the tedious nonsense I put you through today, a Sunday, when it was horrifically busy and the line just wouldn't quit! You're the bestest! Both of you are! And all the other cashiers that hopped on a register to try to bring back some semblance of order. Lol. (A little exaggerated, it wasn't a war zone by any means, but Michael's, Grumpy Looking Old Ladies and Sunday Afternoon go together like spaghetti, meatballs and garlic...
Read morethe manager of this location has shown the most appalling display of customer service skill and I have never had such a disappointing experience at an establishment as I have at the Micheals craft store located on rt 30 in Joliet. in a store full of employees aimlessly walking around on their cell phone, one very sweet, very patient and focused girl was doing the best she could between answering phones, checking out customers and trying her best help me and my self check out issue she had did the best she could to help us and the girl working resters with blue hair deserves all the recognition with the efforts I saw her putting in to her job we wait so terribly long for help as we watched employees just walk past us once she could no longer help she called for someone else to help us who happened to be the store manager she was extreme impatient, rude and entitled the entire time I have never experienced customer service so terrible that the employees act more important than the customer but the manager of this store did a wonderful displaying just how much she hate her job instead of looking into the issue or even seeing what was wrong on our end she told us that we were wrong off the jump and kept trying to run away and argue with us over what a sign said at this point we had wait over 15 minutes for assistance and the second she sees us she acted as if she didn't have time to figure out the issue even if what we read on the sign was wrong treating a customer with the amount of disrespect as she has is highly unprofessional for someone in her position in all honesty you are better off driving out the way to Joann fabrics based on prices and customer values alone this is most careless establishment if even been in please give the girl with blue hair a raise she is the only one who does anything usefully in that store and god bless her heart for her dedication to such a soulless...
Read moreWaited in line for the cashier and was told to use the self-check out. I then said I had to exchange an item. I could see it visibly upset her to help me next, because she rolled her eyes. When I got to the register, the associate quickly told me I couldn't make an exchange. Kept trying to tell me they had to do a non-receipt return, but I had my receipt. She also kept saying I had to get store credit as a return instead of back to my card, but wouldn't explain why. She then became rude and irritated along with the manager and just said " that's just how it works," when I asked why it wouldn't go back to my original payment as a return. (It was refundable to original payment afterall). I don't shop here often and probably won't again. It was an unnecessarily confusing interaction. I tried to look for the return policy on the receipt but there was none. Both management and associate talked about me while I was making my way out like I was the problem, very unprofessional. Still confused, I looked up the return policy on the company website to get some kind of clarification on the policy. I get that policies change, but they could have at least tried explain the process instead of immediately becoming rude...
