The attitude from the staff is downright unfriendly. They constantly disable the room access card, and I can't tell if they're doing it on purpose to mess with me or if it's just incompetence. When you need to use the card to access your room, it's a gamble—sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. When I asked them about it, the explanation was absurd. They claimed my phone was somehow disabling the room card. Really? The hotel looks fine from the outside, but the moment I stepped into the room, I saw the bathroom full of unflushed filth. Clearly, no one bothered to clean or even check the room before assigning it. For $60 a night, you'd expect at least basic cleanliness. There are plenty of other hotels in the area at that price point. Unless you're completely exhausted and desperate for a bed, do yourself a favor and skip this place. Overall, I don't recommend it at all. The location is decent, with a Burger King, several restaurants, a big gas station, and a mall right next door, all within walking distance. There are also about five different hotels nearby. But with all these options, you'd be better off choosing one of them instead of this place. The convenience of the location doesn't make up for the constant hassle and lack of cleanliness. Avoid this hotel—there are plenty of better choices just steps away.

Room looks decent at first glance. Smoke detector hanging out of the ceiling and another one found shoved behind the bed. Small pieces of garbage behind night stand, floors are so dirty that barefeet turn dirty from walking on them, the bathroom tub stopper was broken, the faucet was broken so it would only work on shower, there were hairs in tub and on floor plus around the door frame entering the bathroom, hot water didn't last the whole shower, the lock to the room was hanging on by one screw and not secured, and the day we asked for new towels after several days of being here, it took over an hour so we had to ask a second time for them which shouldn't have happened. The pool was freezing which was a huge downfall as well. However, the location was perfect. There were restaurants everywhere and places to explore nearby. The price was right. Just wish the upkeep of the rooms and bathroom were to a higher standard.

I stopped here because the weather got really bad in a hurry, and I didn't want to push on into the countryside. It was eightyish dollars, and the room was adequate. When I stay in a big corporate motel, I darn well expect breakfast if they have facilities for it. The normally lavish spread thrown by super 8 was a mere three honey buns. Better than nothing, but meh. The gal at the desk said something about getting what you pay for, but I had been staying at $40-60 independents for most of my trip. In most cases the room exceeded theirs, but I didn't expect a meal there. If I was caught in the area in bad weather, I'd probably stay again. If I could continue on, I'd probably do that.

Live Love Laugh 1/5 a minute ago on Google My stay from Oct 1st to the 2nd was a joy. My group really enjoyed staying here. We had 2 rooms that were comforting and clean along with the enjoyable clean pool area. We had a small selective complimentary breakfast that we all enjoyed. There were several guys on shift during our check-in and out. They were so wonderful! I felt like yes I will be back. I made a reserve for the following weekend of Oct. 8th and found out that I was not welcomed. The attendant on the 8th was already upset when I arrived. She was dealing with another guest while I was waiting to check in. This guest was waiting for ice and had told me that the ice machine has been down since she checked in on Oct. 7th. The attendant came to me next and was still upset. When trying to check in she said it would be a 25$ deposit. Paying the deposit was no problem for me. Although I tried telling her I was just here on the 1st of October and checked out on the 2nd I got 2 rooms with no deposit so why do I have to pay one now? She said because it's a deposit. She kept repeating because I'm study asking why now and not than. I told her all the employees should know that. I tried to show her my receipt and she said she careless about when I was there and was not interested in my receipt. I asked for management and she said she was management. I told her you should be able to see it in your system because I was just here last weekend and paid no deposit. She was not interested in what I was saying and continue to demand a deposit. She finally later said it's policy. I asked if I could see the policy and she said no. I asked for her name since she was wearing no name tag and she said you don't need my name. Because of her rudness I told her to cancel my reserve and I end up checking in at Best Western in Joliet which was great. I was greeted there and the attendant went over a100.00 deposit that was refundable. So that being said, Best Western won! I will not use this Super 8 again because of this lady attendant that appeared to be in her 50's to 60's Caucasian with many wrinkles in her face. She seem to be exhausted from dealing with customers. She should be reminded that the customers are the ones who are helping keep her bills paid and keep Super 8 by Wyndham in business. Kudos to the asinine lady attendant on the evening shift of Oct. 8th for helping me to explore an even better hotel at...

If one looks at the reviews on the web, the staff gets good comments. I agree. The staff was friendly and helpful when I needed something. Motels can get many things right and wrong, but good staff is very helpful. Someone has done a good job putting good people at this motel.

A few things about the room were a little rough. One of the bedspreads had a hole in the outer part. That doesn't look great, but the bedspread did what it needed to do. One of the light bulbs appeared to be on the edge of burning out. It would produce just a little bit of light. The shower had what felt like a hole in the floor. Someone had put patches over the hole and up both sides. I didn't feel as if I were going to fall through the floor of the shower, but it's not a great feeling. In these times of decline in our nation, I'm not surprised by a bit of roughness.

I was never able to get the WiFi to work. I ended up just connecting through my phone. In some ways, I feel more secure with that anyway. If I'm not spending huge amounts of time in the room, that's okay for me.

The refrigerator worked well. I didn't get around to using the microwave or the TV.

The shower always had water that was plenty hot and flowing well. That's a big advantage.

The front of the room had light switches that were made to turn off after a period of disuse. I think they even had motion detectors that would turn on again if I walked that way. In some ways, I don't like this because I like to keep a light going at the end of the room with the bathroom. That way, I know roughly which way to go when I awake at night and am not sure where I am. On the other hand, these switches will keep many people from wasting electricity by leaving lights on. For someone who doesn't want to leave the room in the dark but doesn't want to leave a light burning while out and about, this is a nice feature.

The surrounding area is another couple of motels, a Best Buy, and a mall. For the most part, this felt like a safe area. I don't like motels that are right next to apartment complexes or other areas where people might be wandering around. Having a Best Buy next door is convenient when one forgets a charger, cable, or other electronic device.

I had time to make my reservation about a week in advance. That meant that I got the room for about $85 a night. For something in the Chicago area, that's not a bad price. If I hadn't had a reservation, the cost would have been close to $120 a night. This room was't...

Zero out of zero would never recommend to visit this hotel when I got in my room it was a terrible smell. It was a little bit cold so I turned on the heater. The heater smelled like it was burning so I shut it off and then I got hot so I turned on the AC thinking maybe it might be different And all it was doing was lingering a very moldy smell, and when I went to go look at the AC, there was black marks along the lining of the AC. When I went to go check out the following morning the front desk lady who always works mornings was very rude extremely rude. Wouldn’t even allow me to say anything and asked if I smoked in the room. I told her no which I wouldn’t even have time to because I woke up late and left my doctors appointment which is why I was out there , so I hurried up and pack my belongings and she went to check the room so I can get my deposit back told me there was a lot of smoke in the room I said maybe it’s from your AC unit because it smells wouldn’t even allow me to finish speaking I have asthma I can’t even smoke. And on top of it she said that she’s been having numerous complaints about it smelling like weed in there and she’s been hearing it for days. I stayed one night and I checked in roughly around 6:00 PM left came back right my belongs in around 10 PM extremely rude staff, not accommodating whatsoever. There was a huge red stain in the middle of the room. I found a used feminine product behind the bed. I had to change the lightbulb from the top of the bathroom sink and put it in the lamp in order to see in the room would never recommend. Extremely rude lady every time I visit she tells me I’m not allowed to come back and this time I’ve just had enough this by far was the worse room I’ve been in and was completely discussed and bc I do not have a car I had no option but to stay till the following mornjng. Never will I visit again. Someone needs to check her or fire her for her attitude and accusations. It’s very very extremely rude to accuse someone of smoking the other day there when I wasn’t even there then cut me off when I try to say I...
