This camp is well kept, and had clean bathrooms and tent sites with plenty of space. It's located near the main road to Joshua tree and was convenient for us to vist the Joshua tree National park as well as the town. Also, this camp is located next to a community park. The park is very nice and we found a trunk r treat with haunted house there on the weekend before Halloween. Initially, I left a review that I would not return because we had something that went missing from out tent site while we were gone during the day, which has never happened to us before. The owners reached out to me about it and sincerely apologized and offered to make it right for us. They also informed me they are working on revamping the gate to the park access and feel terrible that this happened to us, which I appreciate. I suspect perhaps someone looked through the chain link gate and saw our extra tent sitting there in the bag and grabbed it while we were gone, this is something I think people should just be cautious of when they visit here, put away anything you wouldnt want to lose. Other than that, the campground was great, and I updated my review to reflect the fact that the owners seem to really care and are trying their best to run a nice...
Read moreMy friend and I (and our 4 kids) accidentally arrived at this campsite late one evening. It was our third day in America, our first day on the road, and first day driving a 30ft RV. We arrived at Joshua Tree Campground tired and stressed ...only to discover it was not the campground we had booked and paid for. Cue the tears! Little did we know what a blessing in disguise this would turn out to be. From the moment we arrived, we were taken care of. The owner/manager (who we only knew as The Stranger in the Desert) ensured we had all we needed. When our RV sprang a leak, he didn't hesitate in fixing it for us. In retrospect, our Satnav knew what it was doing! We could not have had a more wonderful experience. Next to the RV park is a lovely little splash park for the kids - blessed relief in the heat of summer. The night sky is perfect for star gazing and there is a small super market (dollar store) just a short walk away. Location was perfect for us because when we left the RV park, we were only moments away from the open desert (bliss) and en-route to the Grand Canyon. To our lovely Stranger in the Desert - thank you! I would highly recommend...
Read moreBeware this place is a scam. If I could give zero stars I would. I guess there's been a recent change in ownership. I arrived to the RV park (more like a dirt parking lot) there was no one there to welcome or check me in, when I finally spoke to someone I did request a cancellation for the 4 nights booked realizing that I might need to pay for the first nights stay as stated in their terms and conditions.
When I finally got a hold of someone (the host), he said he would call me back after talking to the new owner (the old owners walked out the day before??) with a response to the cancellation request within 5 minutes. He never called me back, I had to call him to which he told me the new owner would not provide any refund. So basically, really bad business ethics. I asked if I could speak to someone directly about the issue and he said he would call me back. Surprise I still haven't heard from anyone.
Also, this place is named similarly to the legitimate RV park down the road called Joshua Tree RV Lake which is run much more...
