Guy in the store wasn't pleasant. Tried to buy a console but was told that I MUST be a GameStop Pro member to buy the console.
"Because of the high demand of the item"
Employee goes and gets the console and then we spend five minutes talking about how poor the console is doing and how low the demand is
He then tells me that he'll wave the $25 fee for the annual Pro membership so that I can buy the console and that being a member will save me a few bucks on the console itself...
Nope. Only discount on the receipt was the $25 fee he waved for the membership.
What's the point of the membership?
Either the store is wanting to look good to the higher ups by inflating numbers of membership signups, even though they make no money on it.
OR
They're playing the long game and want the automatically enabled "auto renew" to kick in next year and they'll make the $25 there.
If you want to buy a new console, just go to Target, it's down the street from this location. You don't need a membership and the return policy is much better. GameStop console can only be returned within 7 days. Unless you open box,...

I drove out to this location specifically, because they were the only location that had what I was looking for. The door was locked once I got there with nothing but a paper taped on the door saying "Be back in 5". I waited 15 minutes before someone unlocked the door then bluntly stated "I'm going on break." She then put a new sign out that showed she would be back 40 minutes afterwards.
Obviously, people need breaks. If they don't have enough workers to cover lunches then it makes sense that they would need to close. But maybe do the absolute bare minimum and list that anywhere at all? The website, Google, etc. I wasn't being impulsive. I planned the drive all the way out here. I'm not capable of waiting an hour, I have things to do. I ended up waisting a good chunk of my afternoon and still didn't get...

I literally just spent $80 on two games in this store and then get insulted on my way out? I confronted the employee on how rude that was in front of my son and he refused to acknowledge me or say anything to me. Another customer on the way out exclaimed how shocked he was that, that happened.
I have started shopping at GameStop again because I want to preserve my physical media, but I will take my business to other stores for my three kids. I can say no to the pro membership. I shouldn’t have to say no 4 times. And I shouldn’t be insulted for not signing up. Terrible...
