KC BBQ TOURS : Tour Kansas City & The Kansas City Barbecue Tour — Attraction in Kansas City

My son and I returned for a second year to try the KC BBQ Tour with Arlin on Oct 13 2025. Once again a fabulous experience. Arlin was able to schedule a tour for us even though they are generally closed on Mondays. Great customer service! Arlin let us try a new restaurant which like the others was exceptional. We were also able to do the BBQ museum tour which is another must for this tour. As always Arlin was a great and friendly host. She toured us around many different and unique neighbourhoods as we travelled to each restaurant. She provided fun facts about the original royals baseball team, jazz in the city and must see museums. Once again we highly recommend Arlin and her company as a must see for any KC visit !!!

My son and I were visiting Kansas City from Canada a few weeks back for the Chiefs vs Saints game. We have been to Kansas City a few times previously and were looking to try something different. We decided to book with Tour Kansas City for their BBQ tour. Let’s just say we were not disappointed. Our tour guide Arlin was fabulous! Not only did she provide a great selection of BBQ to try at three separate locations but also provided history and commentary about both the city and the neighbourhood we toured through. She was very knowledgeable and funny and really made the trip. Moving on to the BBQ, you will not go away hungry. By the third stop we were all quite full but happily so. Arlin stated to me she likes to under sell and over deliver. My husband and I booked this tour on a Thursday for Friday morning and just one other couple came along. I knew we would have fun and get to eat some BBQ, but boy did I underestimate Arlin. From go she was engaging, informative, and most of all funny. She was knowledgeable in the BBQ history and appeared to have more than a working relationship with the establishments we visited. She was very interested in our opinion and vested in us enjoying ourselves. Our tour included the BBQ museum which was an excellent way to walk off the massive amount of BBQ that is included with this tour. Arlin is very involved and cares a great deal for her community. At a stop sign on the way to one of our stops Arlin gave a homeless guy her lunch. This tour is usually booked by large groups but the quality afforded to this 4 person tour was top notch. Arlin made sure we all were satisfied and all questions were answered. I would most definitely book this tour again and have no reservations booking one of her other interesting tours. Absolutely loved our Kansas City BBQ tour with Arlin! She took incredible care of both me and my mom, and the whole experience felt so personal and warm—like spending the day with a good friend who just happens to know everything about the city. Arlin is clearly a true local, and it showed not only in her deep knowledge of KC’s food scene and history, but also in the way she was welcomed at every stop we made. You could tell she’s genuinely loved and respected in the community.

She went above and beyond to make the tour special, even making a few extra stops based on our interests.
