If I could give them a 0 star rating I would. I recently purchased some items from their online store. They were running a Memorial Day special with free shipping and a free Edgar Martinez bobblehead on all orders over $75. I put in an initial order of over $90 at the beginning of the sale. Later in the sale I decided to put in a second order of over $80. When I got the second order in the free bobblehead was not included. When I inquired as to why their President of Stadium Ops replied with an arbitrary condition that was not disclosed in any advertisement that it was only one bobblehead per household. I stated that I was misled by a hidden (who knows if it was even real) condition that was not publicly disclosed and I wouldn’t have made my second order had I known that and I wanted to return the order. The President of Stadium Ops then preceded to tell me that because they spent $80 shipping my items to the East Coast they would not accept any returns and I also wouldn’t be getting my free bobble head that I was entitled to. So because of the teams’ false advertising I made a second order under false pretenses and the team then refuses to make it right or let me return return the order. I’ve never had such a negative interaction with a minor league baseball team. If this is truly how they operate...
Read moreWent to the ball park several times last year and accessed the Volcanoes official website to buy Tix. The 'base' price of a first base lower seat is $20. Then the addons and extras hit. Same day purchase is $2 extra but $4 extra per ticket showed on the credit list. Service fee was another $2-$6 and mailing was another couple bucks even though the same day purchase should have eliminated that option. The Print Today option added another couple bucks! All told fees added $12 to each ticket. Didn't see a Will Call option. Add the price of food on to the entrance fee and a couple is looking at $100 bucks to watch HS guys from the Caribbean and US college guys.
Money is not an issue for me attending events but we all have choices where to spend our entertainment dollars and I won't pay to reinforce a bad business model.
The Volcanoes are a short season Class A team. One or two players on the roster might actually make the majors in a few years. They are not the Seattle Mariners or the San Francisco Giants. They are not even the Las Vegas Aviators, a AAA team whose players are one step away from major league baseball and could be called up at any time. I attended a game in Summerlin earlier in the year, where their games are almost always sold out in a 10,000 seat brand new stadium, and...
Read moreAfter three visits to this ballpark in the last two seasons, I am not sure I will go again. You go to a ballgame for three things:
Too bad we didn't see one crumb of food. Waited in line a couple of times. First time the line NEVER moved in half an hour. It looked like a bunch of people just standing around browsing their phones. Second wait in line we got to second from the counter just to be told nobody was available to take orders right now because they were behind on getting food out. Missed a total of 4 innings waiting in line to get NO FOOD. We found out later that two concession service trucks that were hired to cater this event never showed up. By the time the fireworks show was over everything was closed, so we had a late dinner at home, 1AM.
We had two other experiences there where they didn't have food ready when the game was starting. Poor planning. The only time I ever did get food successfully during the game, I waited from the 1st inning to the middle of the 6th before reaching my seat...
