Our party of 3 arrived and were welcomed by the hosts and put on the list, asked for our phone number and told it was a 15 to 20 min wait and if we could wait in our car. Luckily we had air conditioning as we were experiencing a heatwave. After 20 plus minutes we got a text saying it was our turn. On entry the host who had put us on the list had already forgotten us and asked how many. I told her we were buzzed by text. She realized her mistake and took us to our table which was clean except the table was anything but clean. It needed to be wiped down as there was food and debris all over the table. The host was visually embarrassed and apologized, stating "I was told it was clean!" and quickly went and got a cloth and cleaned it for us. Not the best start! We were greeted by our server and ordered 2 alcoholic beverages and some waters. I immediately ordered 3 appetizers on the ziosk and sent them to the kitchen within 5 minutes of arriving as we were all hungry. Bread came out and then later one of the alcoholic beverages, then a large gap. I then ordered a non alcoholic cherry lime on the ziosk. The next time the server came by I asked about my cherry limeade and told her we ordered apps and sent them to the kitchen. She went to the bar to check for the limeade and didn't return. I then ordered a Salmon and 2 sides and added a salad again on the machine. Forty mins passed at this point and all we had was water, bread and 1 of the 3 drinks we had ordered. All of a sudden my Salmon showed up with one side, the fries. I asked the person who dropped it, the manager on duty, if he could check for our other 2 drinks. He did and found one of the alcoholic drinks but explained that the server was new and she didn't know that she had to make the cherry non alcoholic limeade herself. I wondered why she was not told this in training first off and secondly why the bar didn't inform her when she asked for it. I also mentioned we were missing 3 apps and my other side salad and the added salad. The manager said that "there was a note on the ticket for it to come out with the entree". This made no sense because I had ordered the apps 40 mins prior and he only brought the salmon. I felt like it was excuse after excuse at this point all 3 of us were DONE. He then went and retrieved the rest of our food and cherry limeade beverage. This is when I cut into my Salmon and it was RAW. When the rest of our food and drinks arrived I showed the manager my salmon. He offered to remake it but I told him I was put off and would rather it just taken off the check as it was uneaten. He apologized and removed it and my side of fries from the table and applied a partial credit to our check. At this point everyone at our table was irritated me included and not hungry anymore. That is when our sever showed up again and dropped more bread and disappeared again. I paid the bill and I was ready to leave. This was the 3rd strike. We have previously had 2 other bad experiences at Outback when it was on Lancaster drive. We tried to give it another chance every 5 years and this would be the last time. As long time servers ourselves for a lot of years at corporations we were just disappointed at this experience. The manager did come by again and brought us 3 $10 gift cards to make up for the Salmon, moot point as I had already paid. I gave them to the cute older couple sitting beside us in matching tshirts as I don't plan to waste any more money at an Outback steakhouse ever again. The manager did everything he could to put out the fire that was our entire experience to his credit but this experience was un-salvagable in my opinion. The giant "WE ARE HIRING"! sign on the building sign on the building is very telling of this industry today. She was tipped well for the little interaction we had with her. Maybe start new servers with 2 table sets and train them on the ziosk Back of house staff should have spot checks on temping especially seafood! Maybe this whole chain needs an overhaul on training front and back of house? $90 down...
Read moreWasn't going to post anything here but after talking with the Owner/ General Manager and him failing to follow through with what he said and even giving him extra time but can't even get a phone call back or anything.
Used to go to outback several times a year but after our last expense a couple months ago probably will not be trying them again. Wife and I both ordered a steak dinner.
Well first let's go back we were sat at a dirty table that had not been wiped off after the last person the host sat down the menus and just walked off. Couldn't get anyone's attention to get it cleaned the people next to us with a small child ended up giving us a babywipe to clear the mess.
Ok back to ordering when out waitress finally showed up she took our order drink order apatizer all at the same time ok no big deal. Steaks arrived they were sit down and staff walked off not asking if we needed anything else or nothing. My steak was over cooked to my liking my wife ate maybe 3-4 bites of hers because they had put so much spice on it that it was not tolerable at all to eat. Got a wait staff flagged down to get drink refill and asked to speak to someone regarding her steak and was told someone would be right over.25ish minutes later our waitress shows up with our check and asked if something was wrong with her steak as it had barley been touched, she made the comment she could have it remade for her. WHY would we wait another 30 ish minutes for her steak to be precooked. I asked for a box and took her steak home to scrape all the seasiong off and eat for myself the next day. Used the little table computer thing to pay. Did the survey at the end( negative reviews) got a call the next week from the Owner/ General Manager asking about our experience told him almost everything. And words from his own mouth he reassured me that is not how they run business etc..etc.... Took my address down and said he was waiting on some new gift certificates to come in that week and he would send me a gift certificate for everything and have us come back in thos call happened MARCH 12th. Glad I didn't hold my breath wanting. So outback of Keizer your score is a 1 out of 10. 1 only because the alcohol drink I got was...
Read moreOutback is going to go out of business and it's no surprise. They used to have great service and a fun environment with decent steaks. Unfortunately, it's locations like this one that will end up being their demise. After a long day of Black Friday shopping, we came in for a late meal. I ordered prime rib, rare and my husband ordered the Queensland pasta. I was told several minutes later that they didn't have any rare meat since I came in so late (oddly stated, but I understood) so I replaced it with a rare ribeye. The server was less than interested in our patronage. She rushed us through our order, reminding us that it was late (we came in about 45 minutes before closing), asked us twice if we really wanted appetizers (we did) and then I ordered a glass of Moscato. When I asked her what brand, she rolled her eyes and said it was Barefoot "we don't carry the expensive stuff". How tacky! Nonetheless, I ordered it and then had to chase her down to get a glass of water which came in a dirty cup. Once some guy brought us our food, the plates had obviously sat under the food heaters, as I took off a layer of skin when I touched my plate. My ribeye was overcooked and had so much salt, I couldn't eat it. The potato was burnt and was fully loaded. I asked for only butter and sour cream. To put the cherry on top, once I told her about this issue, her response "Well, it's late, but did you want me to make them recook it?" No ma'am. I don't. She said she'd tell her manager who was sitting with friends who showed up when I did, comfortably at the bar. Ironically, it's the guy who brought us the terrible food. He shrugged his shoulders and walked back into the kitchen where oddly enough, I could hear them talking about us. Fire them both. This is the face of your brand. It's spiraling into a garbage reputation and you've lost my business. How embarrassing. Customer service can trump the good mistakes, but when you have both, it's unforgivable. I paid my bill in full and left. Shame on you Outback! Maybe hire some quality servers while you still have restaurants...
