This is probably the biggest Pokémon GO hot spot in Kenosha, with clusters of PokéStops (usually with active lures), nests, and a great community. HarborPark is popular for many other reasons, as well. It is a popular fishing spot. There are multiple paved pathways, benches, picnic tables, sculptures, views of Lake Michigan and Kenosha's Lighthouses (especially lovely at sunrise), opportunities to watch various watercraft come in and out of the harbor, including one of the "Tall Ships" (which has scheduled rides and tours available). There are several museums nearby and there is even a trolley to take you around the area, if you're into that. Many local Festivals and Events are also held here. The park is reasonably well-maintained and the public does its part by removing their waste and utilizing the many available trashcans.
The only major drawback I've found is that there are only 2 permanent port-a-potties (sometimes more may be brought in during events). One is at the East end of the park and the other is at the far West end in a parking lot, both are unlit, so bring a flashlight or phone if going after dark. Also, sometimes it can smell extra "fishy" and be a bit of an issue, but it is a HARBOR Park so it comes with the territory.
Overall, I would give HarborPark 4.7 out of 5 stars, if possible, but since I can't do that, I rounded it...
Read moreThis park is beautiful! It’s pretty cool they’re sculptures to view. It’s also cool to see the river from the rocks. There’s a walking trail that leaves you with a wonderful view of the river and the houses in the area. I was only in Kenosha for a few hours (while passing through on a road trip), but I could clearly see a town with charm.
With all that, the park does stay busy. I kind of stuck out as somebody trying to take pictures (without people in them). Lots of kids around, mingling around the sculptures. If you’re looking for a less crowded area, Simmons Island Beach a few blocks away is...
