Dayton Metro Library - Kettering-Moraine Branch — Attraction in Kettering

The updates are very nice but I cannot believe how many people are working here at once, and hardly a friendly face among them. At any given time there are four of them just standing or sitting around talking loudly to each other. If they aren’t talking, they are hovering over you while you are browsing for books.

Printed a document out, walked up to the front desk and kindly asked to borrow a pen quickly to sign my document. The librarian did not even look at me or say anything to me, just continued to stare at her computer screen while shoving me a pen. I signed my document and handed her back the pen with a pleasant smile and a thank you very much and she ACTUALLY GRUNTED back all while still maintaining PERFECT eye contact with the computer. Couldn’t believe it.

All of the Dayton libraries are beautiful and this one is no exception! They have a great reading/play area for the kids during cold weather, as well as meet-up groups.

This library has several study-group areas and a teen room. I must say I've never seen any teens in the teen room, so maybe their programs need adjusted.

My only complaint is that there seems to be a lot of empty space that could definitely result in more books! There are almost no history books and several books I was looking at were unable to be checked out due to them being reference. However, they weren't reference materials!

I love that DML will take books from one library to another for free and I love the easy, automated return system. But fit some more...

Terrible place to study. Kids running around screaming all day, adults talking and making no attempt to be quiet, and the staff does nothing to stop it. They do not accommodate students studying long-term. If you leave early from your reserved study room, they will tell you they can no longer accommodate you.
