Unfortunately today was my last time visiting Epic. I've been going there for years and have even brought clients and coworkers for meetings and will miss this as an option. Today I went in to enjoy a latte and get some work done, but I found the WiFi wasn't showing up. After realizing this I saw that there were signs, so I asked the person at the register about it and was told it was no longer available. When I asked why, I was met with a snarky "Uh, REASONS!". I suspect this person is the owner as they've been there for years and has usually been quite pleasant, but I can't confirm this. Either way, to be met with such an unprofessional response was so disappointing that I had my drink packed up and left immediately. TO THE OWNER: it is always acceptable for any business to change what services are offered, however, it is also perfectly acceptable for any customer to inquire about the reason a service they're used to receiving is no longer available. I would recommend you try harder to understand your audience, as coffee shops are culturally associated with being conversational meeting places as well as for those who'd like to enjoy some coffee while using the Internet. The real issue though, is professionalism. For any small business owner/employee to respond in such a way to any customer who is asking a question is completely out of bounds and so disappointing. TO POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS: if you're looking to grab coffee to go or maybe meet someone you could go here, but I'd recommend any of the other locally owned coffee shops who would be more happy to take...

There are tables, a counter and cozy little alcoves with couches. The staff were really friendly and still in that "we're so glad you came in, let us impress you!" stage of a new business. I was surprised to see they also have ice cream (may have been gelato, I didn't read the signs) and a food menu in addition to the scones and pastries in the small case.
The coldbrew was solid. I love that they have macadamia milk! Soda was good. The one hot drink I ordered was not great but that's on me because I ordered a flat white with coconut milk. I knew as soon as it came out of my mouth it was a really bad idea. The barista didn't actually know what a flat white was and I tried to explain but that coconut milk was going to sabotage it regardless. We also tried their version of a frappuccino and it was better than that other place, mostly because their homemade whip cream was not overly sweet and so thick and creamy.
The only problem is location. That corner shopping strip has always been a pain. I'm a little worried about parking. Of course we all put up with it when Bagel cafe was there. Just don't expect to always find a spot outside the door when this...
