Klamath County Museums — Attraction in Klamath Falls

I stopped in to see the great local history exhibits including the Modoc Indian War, and the Tulelake Japanese Internment Camp.

The World War 2 balloon bombs, the internment camp, and the War with the Modoc tribes are some of the highlights of the local history exhibits.

The oldest dated sandal in history is in the Native History section with some great displays of the three local tribes.

You find many more great sections to explore with a nice display on rocks, minerals, and Western history.

My daughter and I went for a model train exhibition. I was really disappointed with it. There were very few trains in it.

We ended up just walking around the museum instead. Learning more about local history was fascinating. My daughter was so excited to see everything, so I didn't get to read the descriptions of many of the exhibits.

The glow-in-the-dark crystals exhibit is great. My daughter is terrified of the dark, but she came back to this numerous times. She also liked the fossils exhibit. She even wheedled me into buying her a box of fossils from the gift shop.

What a charming little gem! 🪙✨ Yes, the museum is on the smaller side (and a tad warm inside), but the warmth of the welcome more than made up for it. The sweet lady at the front desk greeted us with big smiles and handed my daughters their very own scavenger hunts—tailored to their ages! 🕵️‍♀️ At the end, they proudly traded in their answers for a fun little prize.
