Very nice park central downtown Knoxville location adjacent to beautiful Market Square.
The Charles Krutch Park is relatively small covering parts of two city lots. It has a very nice variety of trees and shade. The Parks walking path meanders throughout lovely grounds decorated with art sculptures; these are exceptional making the Park an Art Gallery. Wow, this park is very well groomed and maintained, additionally throughout the year they display various decorations that reflect the seasonal celebrations and local events.
The Park is graced with a nice pond and stream (although the stream is man-made it is a work of art in itself to me); plenty of places to sit and enjoy yourself, the Park and has many Historic surroundings that include so much; there are hotels, museums, theaters, shopping, great restaurants, plenty of bars that range from downright funky (artistically) to classy and also several places to socialize which are favorites to locals.
Within a few blocks of this park are many fantastic places to visit. One of my favorites is perhaps the best pet shop ever, CitiFid-O (you gotta check it out and please read my review on it and other local attractions). Six blocks away is Chesapeake's Seafood Restaurant which is extremely popular for dining, for the bar specialties, for the staff (ask for Ben server and Dave the Bartender... but remember they all are special), oh and for sure the great mix of Knoxville finest customers).
Yes, the Charles Krutch Park location is a great asset for the Downton Knoxville.
Plan on taking your best friends and family, a camera and some food; have a lovely picnic for yourself or you can enjoy a delightful lunch in famous Market Square which is across the street. Enjoy, enjoy this park, I think you will! Oh, the people in Knoxville are...

Located in the rejuvenated heart of of downtown Knoxville, it features lots of shade, seating areas, paved walking and gathering areas, as well as a many outdoor sculptures. Photo ops abound. There are beautiful vistas that combine urban greenery and flowers (in season) with restored buildings. There are intimate small seating + gathering spaces tucked in amongst the surrounding buildings. There are realistic statues commemorating Knoxville history plus very cool abstracts. Surrounding the park, there are many places to shop, dine, drink and snack. This is the perfect place to spend a fine weather afternoon, or just spend an hour here posing by the art and and enjoying a fine...
Read moreThis is the best thing about the downtown Knoxville area. It was one of the first things that I really fell in love with when I first started working downtown. It looks very beautiful in the winter when the lights are put up as well as the Christmas tree. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because of the homeless people that accost you while you're sitting on a bench there. I've sat down just to read a book only for a homeless person to sit down and stare at my purse, which made me feel very uncomfortable. Otherwise, the park is beautiful in the summer as well ! The art makes...
