I've been going to this place since it first opened, the first day it opened....not to long ago i went to purchase an umbrella. I've been practicing hospitality/ kindness. I just needed to say that the man at the front with the two women,he had glasses , treated me like a pariah. He said " you aren't from he" fact is i am and I told him I moved away...he then went on with a bunch of nonsense about how Knoxville has changed its not the same. Fact is,which I didn't tell him I've been back here since 96.lol He needs to learn to stop talking so much and learn to be okay with people being happy,i didnt come in their for anyones opinion about me... Most people here from here seem to have issues with that. He was trying to make me indifferent and that's inhospitable. I'll no longer recommend this place to anyone. Thanks for...

Nostalgia galore! My kids & I LOVE this store. Located on historic Gay St in downtown Knoxville this store has everything from clothing, shoes, jewelry, climbing/hiking gear, kitchen items, recipe books along with ingredients, decorations and saving the best for last what they're uniquely known for THE CANDY BARRELS! Yes! Old timey barrels full of eras of candy such as what you or your grandparents enjoyed as a child! They also have toys from the different eras as well! There are small baskets for you to fill with the mix of your choice. They charge by the pound so there's no limit to what you can buy. Also, there is a cooler full of pop top rootbeer, coca~cola beverages & a few more. Even if you do not buy anything Mast General is just an amazing...
