The manager has zero customer service. The front door was wide open so I walked inside. As I approached a woman at the desk checking in books, she told me they were closed. Graciously she went ahead and checked in my books (since she was already checking in books). The manager was clearly displeased. I asked if I could please pick up some books. The manager said no since they have to focus on opening duties. I, too, run a business and would never not help someone standing right in front of me. Taking 3 minutes to check out books (when your opening duties consist of checking books in and out anyway) is incredibly rude. There is no reasoning behind it aside from your own ego. Had the front door been closed, I would not have been inside in the first place. They should have had the door locked, they should have accepted that they propped the door open, and they should have helped the person they allowed inside. They made the mistake by leaving the door wide open so they should have corrected that mistake by helping the person that was standing right in front of them. This woman (the manager) continued to give me excuses of why she can’t help and that she needed to focus on her duties but the amount of time she spent arguing with me took more time than simply helping me would have. As I mentioned, the woman behind the desk was kind enough to at least accept my books. The manager is completely ridiculous and unreasonable. Hopefully she will be replaced by someone who can do a better job running the library. Her lack of knowledge, customer service, and kindness...
Read moreThis library is an introvert's heaven, ever since I got my library card I haven't had a reason to interact with staff, you can get instructions in getting a library card from their website and once you have one checking out books is done through a computer at the main desk, their book selection is a bit lacking to what I'm used to, their young adult shelves are filled almost exclusively with best sellers, nothing wrong with that but you'll be troubled if you try to find any hidden gems here. Most of their bookshelves are filled to the brim with interesting books on all sorts of topics and genres so it seems that this library only lacks physical space to store those less checked out hidden gems. There are chairs and tables all around the library including some spots hidden near the back next to windows that make reading incredibly relaxing, though it's not always quiet especially so when the kids decide to do a few rounds of online gaming in the computers, they do talk with a low voice which is nice since it makes the atmosphere less awkward when you shuffling through books isn't the only sound in...
Read moreI’ve been actively checking books out from here for over a year now as well as bringing my son to many activities. But today I learned how biased they can be, I returned a book that had a few pages of water damage of which I don’t think I even did but I was willing to pay a fee to just deal with it but they were going to charge me full retail price! Which I know the library does not pay that for the book so not only was I going to replace a book I didn’t damage but they were going to profit from it. On top of that, I was visibly upset/shocked at what they said and the two women working very clearly made it aware that they thought negatively about me to the point where I won’t feel comfortable returning to the library. It’s just very unfortunate that they waive tons of fees for some but then pick and choose who they want to take...
