My husband and I tried this today for the first time. I’ve been wanting to go and was really excited when I place the order today. We ordered a chopped brisket sandwich, a half a pound of brisket, a half a pound of ribs, and sausage link. Along with an 8 ounce of potato salad, coleslaw, and pinto beans
All I can say is that everything was so amazing! When I told my husband that the potato salad had eggs in it, which is something I’ve never had before, he said that’s exactly how his grandmother made it in Waco, and I said it’s called granny’s potato salad! So I think I might be changing my own homemade recipe.
He loved his chopped brisket sandwich. He said it was absolutely delicious in one of the best he’s ever had. I tried to rib, a slice of brisket, and a bit of the sausage along with all three sides and I have to tell you everything was so super delicious. The meats were so tender and juicy. The rib I could just pull the meat off the bone it was fantastic! The brisket had a nice bark on it. It was very moist and it was deliciously tender with great flavor. The sausage was also really great flavor one of the best I’ve ever tried.
All the sides were fantastic. I love the potato salad. I loved the pinto beans and the coleslaw was interestingly good! I’ll have to figure out what’s in it to replicate.
We tried both their spicy and regular barbecue sauces and I like them both my husband‘s a fan of regular and I like spicy, but I did mix it up on my plate just to try them, but none of these meats needed barbecue sauce in my opinion, you know a great brisket doesn’t need barbecue sauce that would’ve been best for the sandwich which it was used for, but I would’ve eaten all these meats without barbecue sauce at all, which is a true testament to how Great they were and how they turned out.
We were really happy that we had the opportunity to finally try this every time I drive by. It’s usually closed so I’m happy it was open and I was able to place my order.
If you haven’t been there yet, you gotta go! You’re missing out on something fantastic.

The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between casual comfort and rustic charm, making it an ideal spot for both family gatherings and casual outings with friends.
The menu is a true testament to BBQ mastery, featuring an impressive selection of meats that are cooked to perfection. I opted for the brisket, and it was nothing short of spectacular—tender, juicy, and infused with a rich, smoky flavor that left me craving more. The ribs were equally delightful, falling off the bone with each bite and glazed with a tangy, mouthwatering sauce that complemented the meat beautifully.
What truly sets Bloodworth BBQ apart, however, is the attention to detail in every dish. The sides are not mere afterthoughts; the cold zesty pasta was crisp and refreshing, while the charro beans were a delightful blend of sweet, savory, and a little spice! And let’s not forget the 5 cheese smoked Mac n cheese—it was the perfect accompaniment to the meal.
The service was exceptional, with attentive staff who were knowledgeable about the menu and eager to make recommendations. The owners that engage with us customers and were so welcoming to everyone!! They truly made me feel like a valued guest.
In conclusion, Bloodworth BBQ is a must-visit for any BBQ enthusiast or anyone looking for a hearty, satisfying meal. I left with a full belly and a smile on my face, already planning my next visit. Highly...
Read moreDear Thomas,
Last Friday (8/29), my brother, my son, and I visited your new operation on Center Street in Kyle. We ordered brisket, ribs, sausage, chicken, coleslaw, beans, and banana pudding. It was the glowing reviews of the banana pudding which attracted us to your restaurant in the first place because my son is a big fan of banana pudding, and good banana pudding is hard to find. The pudding did not disappoint. It tasted homemade like the pudding our mothers and grandmothers used to make. As good as it was, the real star of the meal was the barbecue itself. We agreed it was some of the best barbecue we've eaten, and we placed a $200+ order for pickup the next day to enjoy while we watched football together.
This is not just an off-the-cuff review by a couple of average Joes. For the past 15 years we've gotten together in the fall to watch football and eat barbecue. We've eaten barbecue around the state, from north Texas to south Texas and points in between. We've had some of the best, from Snow's in Lexington, to Franklin in Austin, to Smitty's in Lockhart, and the Luling City Market in Luling. And the three of us agree, your barbecue is definitely among the best we've eaten. You should be proud of what you serve. The people of Kyle and the surrounding area are fortunate to have a barbecue restaurant of your quality. We have added Bloodworth BBQ to our list of places worthy of a return visit.
Thanks for a delicious experience. Until next...
