Went to Casa Maria this week for the first time, for the last time. (Thursday evening, dinner) We entered through the bakery doors so as to walk by the long glass bakery case which is filled with an assortment of delicious looking baked goods. This had me stoked. And then we made it to the host stand. We were sat right away, since the place was mostly empty. We were taken to a booth on the exterior wall, with a view to the outdoor seating. One of the tables at the back of the room was tipped over on its side, presumably being worked on. It was hard for my eyes not to be drawn to the air vents, which didn't look like they'd been cleaned in months. The whole spot had a weird hushed feeling to it. It was like they'd closed during covid and never actually re-opened and the place was staffed by ghosts. Dramatic? Sure, but that was the vibe. The service was what a person's bare-minimum looks like. I couldn't tell if she was new, or just apathetic, but it was not good. We ordered three margaritas, two large and I had a small. They looked completely different, with the large ones looking as you'd expect, and mine being clear, with a bit of something carbonated. It tasted like a splash of sweet and sour with soda water and was absolutely terrible. We had one kids meal and three entrees. The food had very little flavor from the meat to the sauces. Everything was bland. The mole was probably the worst I've had anywhere. The beans were soup. The rice was...fine, but why was it a pilaf when the other two plates had Mexican rice? Whatever. The prices, which are absurdly high, felt even higher due to the low quality of literally everything else. We definitely won't be returning. Catch us at Vaquero's, where we should have gone in the first place. Oh well, now we know. 2/10 UPDATE: And then the owner tries to play it off because I mentioned a better restaurant at the end, and that my wife also submitted an honest review of their establishment. Nothing weird here, other than all your five star reviews from people who have never reviewed anything else besides your restaurant 🤔 try harder.

First time at this restaurant. Every place I’ve ever been, in my life, where you’ve ordered a beef fajita it comes out on a sizzling hot pan. But you seen in the picture is what we were served. When we asked the waitress, why the table next to us got their fajita served in a hot pan we were told was because they ordered the fajitas for two. nowhere is this made clear so one would just logically assume that you’re gonna get your fajita meat served hot. The meat which we did get wasn’t seasoned at all, maybe some salt. When we were making our complaint, I expected that at least the waitress would ask if we cared for something else or maybe just take it off the check completely and take it back. No such offer was made. She just answered my question and walked away. By the way, we never saw that waitress again. Before the meal we started with chips and queso and again you would expect the queso would have some seasoning to it. This tasted like a block of melted Velveeta cheese. The only reason it’s getting two stars instead of one is I did enjoy my margarita and the chicken quesadilla was “average”. OH! I’m not sure who painted the lines for the parking lot and put up the signage, but if you go in the area marked entrance, it’s actually the exit. The parking spots are pointed in the opposite direction.

Friday March 21, 2025 5:15 pm. Cons: Super bland. Salsa, needed salt, refried beans, needed salt, enchilada sauce, needed salt. Flautas mushy and unseasoned. Guacamole, needed salt. Rice was barely warm. Charro beans had flavor!....but were too spicy. Sodas were from a can. The wife and I tried each other's food because we were in disbelief at how bad the food was. Maybe we got here too early? We were the only ones inside, so maybe we caught them off guard? Weird vibe for sure. Pros: Cold AC! Not crowded. Very clean. Had to ask for chips and salsa...maybe they were busy with the drive thru? Really came in wanting to like it because their bakery looked delicious, but after our meal we aren't even wanting to risk unseasoned pan dulce. Well, as the saying goes, "Don't eat where the people aren't." Also 2 enchilada plate is 13 dollars, (pic) but 3 enchilada plate is 17? Math isn't mathing. Flautas were 17. (Pic) Unfortunate.

I just wanted to say prior to this, casa maria was one of my favorite local resturants. I booked their party room for my wedding rehersal. I do not recommend bringing large parties there.

My whole party had a bad experience.

We arrived and the private room didn't say reserved or anything so other patrons tried to seat themselves in the room with us. There were also 2 tables with silverware, probably enough for 10 people, even though I called beforehand to give an accurate headcount (30). We had agreed upon 2 different meal choices and there was supposed to be a menu made for our party, so I went to go ask about it, seeing as how people were trying to order without it. As I walked out of the room a young man walked in with them and I helped pass them out. I proceeded to finally sit down. Personally my drink order never got taken. I had to flag down a server to get one. My food order didn't get taken either, I had to get up again and find someone. Some people's order came out well over an hour before other guests. My mom ordered a Margarita and it never came. After 30 mins she had to go to the bar herself to get one. My father in law was the first person to order and one of the last dishes to come out because they kept trying to give him other people's plates. The one menu option, the meat was tough. The other plates were hit and miss whether they came out cold or not. Lastly as the food started coming out, the servers completely disappeared. If you wanted a refill or needed a fork you had to go find someone.

I loved this resturant before! I know mess ups are going to happen but we paid for all this. Alot of My guests barely touched their food and went to grab whataburger and taco bell on the way home. By the time we left, we hadn't complained too much because we were all tired , it had been a long day, and I thought to myself I'll message them after the weekend, I need to focus on getting married.

Well I message the resturant, whom asked the servers the night we were there and apparently our stories don't add up. They apparently comped my mother drink and 2 plates because they knew they came out late/wrong. So they refused to refund any kind of money because we weren't rude and complaining the whole night? Like he wanted me to present evidence that any of this had taken place. I even got ahold of the owner and they refused to even work with me on the matter citing they stood by the GMs decision. Apparently I'm not entitled to my deposit back (200$) because the servers had reserved the room (which there was no sign), placed out the silverware and menus 3 hours before we got there (which couldn't have been true because i helped pass them out), and we used the room. I don't complain. I don't like to, but none of this sat right with me.

Do with the information as you will. I will not...

I live in a group home and once a month we go out to eat Mexican food. The first time we went to Maria's the server had great difficulty taking our order because apparently it was a new computer system that they carried in their pocket. So this month we went to Maria's again and got the same server she's as sweet little girl but she cannot operate that computer. It took a great length of time to get our orders inputted and then I watched her have to go to another computer and input it there as we got our appetizers our food was served to us cold refried beans were cold on both plates that had them. When she asked whether I was paying cash or card I told her card which is an unusual question you usually just get the check. So she wanted my car and I hadn't even seen a bill yet she showed me the total and we were slightly over and no one drank. She asked if I wanted to print out and I said I did. The blind gentleman of our party ordered three flautas and we were charged 1699 for three flautas. She rang it up as a plate with nothing on it no rice no beans no garvocado just three flautas $16.99. and beware a single glass of unsweet tea was 350. So I asked to speak to the manager The manager came out and said it was our fault that we did not complain when the food got to the table. It was the server's fault that flautas cannot be served as a entree only a plate and we should have had an explanation on that one. I mean we've got the beans and rice and whatever else came on it taking it home and eating it for paying for it. So the food was very good the first time not so much this time. As I told the manager that we would not be back he seemed to be okay with that and just walked away from me. I don't generally write reviews because I just really don't have that many problems that occurs but eater beware. I guess people just don't care anymore I don't understand it there was no attempt to satisfy the customer. I guess they were just too...
