I usually go to the nearby Regal Theater since I have the Regal Movie Pass. Someone reminded me that United Artists was part of the same company & accepted the same Movie Pass as the Regal Theater chain. The only United Artists Theater I could find was in La Canada. Even though it was roughly 30 minutes away by taking the 210 east, I decided to go. Overall, the United Artists Theater was smaller than I expected. 8 theaters. But it was very well kept!! Clean! The lobby was very well lighted. And the concessions stand was being worked by some of the hardest working people I've seen (they were trying to move like crazy!! I tell ya!!). The popcorn 🍿 I got was pretty fresh (if was any closer to being freshly made, it would have made a Pass at me!). The Theater that I watched my movie in was a little smaller than I was used to (was watching A24s Y2K). Which isn't bad, I'm just used to a slightly bigger Theater with more seating. However, they did have the reclining seats, which was very nice! Almost wound up falling asleep they were so comfortable!! The overall experience was very nice. I've never been in a United Artists Movie Theater before. And I was overall happy. I DEFINITELY want to go again when I have time. Pros: very hard working staff, fresh popcorn, can use my Regal Movie Pass there, reclining chairs, little more intimate Theater Cons: a bit out of my way (as compared to 10 to 15 minutes away depending on which Regal Theater I go to), slightly smaller Theater than used to The experience is nice. And I definitely want...
Read moreWe had a voucher for one free ticket and arrived at the theater just before the movie was supposed to begin. The show was almost completely sold out. Having not been there for a few years, we were unaware that the seating accommodations have changed. We were offered two seats in the front row, which seemed reasonable. However, when we got seated, we were so close to the screen that there's no way we could have enjoyed the movie. So we left and returned to the box office. A manager there very graciously refunded our money, after which I realized that if we bought tickets for tomorrow right now, we can have our choice of seats and show up anytime before the movie starts, not half an hour ahead to guarantee that we get seats that we like. My friend said that the reclining seats are very comfortable; I did not even sit down, so I don't know. I'm sure that we'll enjoy the movie tomorrow, but for $10.50 for a senior on a weekday, I wish we had gone to our favorite, the Laemmle Playhouse 7 in Pasadena, where the senior admission price on Wednesdays is $4.50, and general admission before 6:00 p.m. M-Th is $6.00, and refreshments are discounted 20 percent (for Premiere cardholders). Those who believe that the Regal theater prices are low just haven't experienced the...

I was beyond excited to watch Wicked. It was a movie I'd been anticipating all year. However, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment due to an absolutely unacceptable experience.
The speakers in the theater were busted, which completely ruined the movie. For a film like Wicked, where the soundtrack and music are a critical part of the experience, this was inexcusable. I couldn't enjoy the songs or the dialogue properly, and it completely took away from the magic of the movie.
When we brought this issue to the staff's attention, they admitted they already knew the speakers were broken. Yet, they still chose to show the movie as if everything was fine--at full price, no less! This feels like a blatant disregard for customer experience. If they were aware of the issue, why not either fix it, close the affected theater, or at the very least warn customers and offer a discount or refund?
The management at Regal UA in La Cañada clearly values profits over its customers. I walked away not only disappointed but also feeling cheated. Save your money and go somewhere that cares about delivering a quality...
