Seaside Laguna Inn & Suites — Attraction in Laguna Beach

This was the absolute worst beach side hotel stay ever! For the $300 price tag, the room is extremely small with nowhere to put your suitcase or hang your clothes. There’s only one window in the front and one window in the bathroom, so the room is very dark with no overhead lighting. No where to charge your phone. Bathroom has a cute window that faces the ocean, but the shower head is extremely low and the door does not close. Everything is very old and raggedy. The bed is extremely uncomfortable, noisy and hard. There is a lot of street noise as it is on the PCH. When we checked in, we asked about the continental breakfast and they explained it’s from 7 AM to 1 PM. The next morning we woke up to find that there is no food anywhere. Just coffee and tea spread throughout the lobby on different stations which was very odd. My husband asked the very rude female staff that was on the phone and basically gave no eye contact, where is the food and she said it’s only by request. There is no mention of this on the website nor on the confirmation email. One of the reasons we booked the hotel was because of the continental breakfast. When we were checking out, the very rude female staff worker accused us of being noisy, partying and threatened us with a video. She stated that another guest left the hotel because of the “noise” and called the police. He asked to see the video but she didn’t have one. She said that quiet time is after 10 PM, but there is no mention of that on the website nor in the confirmation email. The time that we were accused of “partying” we were at our dinner reservation, and then the beach after. Apparently the cops were called but we never spoke with them because none of it is true. They are all accusations, and I thought it was very brazen and unprofessional of the manager to attack us in this manner. Another side note, the very rude female staff worker that was accusing us of being loud and partying just stared my husband straight in the eyes like she was possessed or ready to attack him when she was telling him these false statements. It was very odd! We will never return to this hotel again! We have booked a beach stay next month across the street and down the road at a highly reviewed spot because it looks very serene, updated, and professionally ran. I really would’ve loved to give this place a 5 star but after my experience, I cannot. My family and I stayed at this hotel the same time last year and we had a pleasant experience. So, when we returned this year we were expecting the same thing. However, we were surprised by the lack of hospitality/service, cleanliness etc. When we showed up the service was perfectly fine. However, we got into our room and noticed that the floor was quite dirty to the point where we could tell it had no been swept or mopped since the last customer had used the room. Along with that, when we went to use the shower there was no hot water. We even left the shower running for a good amount of time, and it still was not working right. We called the front desk and in the morning maintenance took care of it. After this, we did not have any issues until the day we checked out of our room. We were thankful that we got to leave our luggage at the front desk of the hotel however, when we came back to retrieve our luggage, my grandmother needed to use the restroom. The lady at the front office refused to let her use the restroom and told us that we would need to find an alternative place across the street. After not finding a public restroom nearby, we came back to ask again thinking that since we were PAYING customers at their hotel for MULTIPLE nights that they would have some resolution to help us. The lady at the front desk was not kind and had no sense of hospitality and was the least bit helpful. She claimed that she would get in trouble by her boss if anyone used the restroom in the office area and claimed that all of the rooms were being used or checked into early (it was 1pm at the time.) After seeing that our room was just being cleaned (the door was open), we finally convinced her to let my grandmother use the restroom in the room we had just stayed the night in. She left us with a snarky remark as our “goodbye” and refused to give her name when I asked to say thank you. All in all, with mine and my family’s experiences this time, I do not recommend the seaside...

This place is awesome. I read reviews and most said it was good. I am overly impressed and it exceeds my expectation based upon the reviews and pictures I saw, especially for this price point. Keep in mind this isn’t the ritz Carlton so get your expectations right. With that being said it is very nice and about 1 min walk to the beach.

I stayed on the bottom floor without the beach view so I can’t comment on the beach view rooms, but I’m good with just walking a minute to see the beach. You can hear some traffic but there was very little traffic at night and I had no problem sleeping. The bed was super comfortable and the shower had plenty of hot water. The rooms are very clean and the hotel is very clean.

People said it is dated and I would agree it’s an older building but it is updated very very nicely. It’s a really cool feel and vibe.

The staff was very friendly from the moment we arrived. We got in at 9 pm and I told them we hadn’t ate in a while. They let me know they had snacks they offer all day and they even brought out a tray of muffins and pastries for us. They even upgraded us to a king bed which was very nice. Breakfast was good. Some pastries, fruit, bars, cereal, bagels and a coffee machine that makes espresso and latte’s which was really delicious and saved us money everyday. Very nice dining area as well.

I will definitely stay there again and I hope they continue to keep the price without parking or resort fees and reasonable. If I were to change anything I would add a curtain in the bathroom for extra privacy at night. They have blinds but my fiancé would have felt more comfortable if they had curtains.
