Envious Nail Bar — Attraction in Lake Elsinore

I was referred by a friend who goes to get her pedicures done there. Upon arriving I loved the cleanliness , vibe/music, bar set up but it ended there. As I waited to be seem, I posted a story on ig and immediately got negative responses regarding the quality of their work. My appt started. Vee was my tech. I told her, “I don’t like long and skinny, I like wide at the bottom and pointed on top”. I also mentioned, I don't want thick bulky 1st picture was the shape I wanted and the 2nd was the style/color. I thought this was going to be straightforward and achievable. Right away I was informed I had to get a new full set if I wanted to do ombré’. I agreed even though I only needed a fill. She began the 1st set. They were thin, skinny, and narrow. She had to take them off and start all over. Second set wasn’t much of a difference. I showed her the 1st picture again. She couldn’t file the shape. Christy the manager had to come and take over. I was trying to make small talk with Christy, but it was apparent that she was bothered as she ignored me. She was rushing and was rough. Meanwhile, her client patiently waited and was friendly. Christy got closer than Vee, but the encounter was uncomfortable Christy asked if I liked them and I responded replied “it’s better”. I told her I liked her clients shape. Some of my nails came out close to what I wanted .The 3rd picture is what I ended up with. As I paid, the receptionist Candace who approachable and welcoming asked if I liked them and I said I wasn’t happy but they tried. I was honest and thought they would make it right being it was my 1st visit. I responded to everyone asking how they did. I was advised to call and talk to Christy. They saw what I saw. I called back today and Christy declined to fix them. She said I told her I loved them. I never said I loved them. Anyone who knows me know I am honest about what I like. Color was off, nails are different shapes and sizes, and the professionalism/quality was not there. I really wanted to support a business in Lake Elsinore, but this is not the place. I am updating this review to reflect my most recent experience here. I want to be clear, my review is not being edited due to my experience with my nailtech. With that said, I was greatly disappointed at my second appointment. As a woman, and a mother, the nail shop is time to feel rejuvenated and carefree. Unfortunately, responsibilities don’t always allow this time to be alone time. Due to not having childcare, I brought my 4 month old with me. After 30-45 minute late start and a couple hours for a fill, my baby became bored and began to yell. Instead of being given an opportunity to calm the baby in between my fill and pedicure, I was approached, by the male owner-only because I don’t know his name and I believe the shop is also co-owned by women- I was asked if I would be “finishing my services on a different day.” I was stunned and the message was reinforced that if I wanted to finish the service, the baby would have to be quiet. I don’t fault the owner for trying to maintain the ambiance of the shop for other customers, I take offense in the fact that I was told to leave or that if I stayed, my services would not be continued. I was not given a chance to soothe my baby without being told to leave without my full service. There was a lack of empathy for me as a paying customer as well. I even called to try to rectify the situation upon my departure and the message was still reinforced, if the “kid,” (again, I have a 4 month old infant) wouldn’t be able to stay quiet, my services would not be provided. After having such a great experience my first time around, this one was very jarring.

I am recently new to the area and searched up local nail shops. This place came up with great reviews. I am glad I was took the chance. The service is quality from walk in to pay out. They check in with your throughout the service to ensure everything is to standard. The nail tech took her time and was very detailed. Prices are fair for the service you get. The vibe is cute and the complementary drinks are nice. My partner and I alongside our 3rd party would go regularly despite lower quality, overpriced nails because it was close by to us. I’ve had issues with technicians not listening to what I would ask for and with the language barrier and mask wearing by some of the technicians, a mishap was bound to happen to which the owner decided to take an unprofessional route and not allow a customer back (this seems to happen to other people who have provide feedback to their business after they mess up or make a mistake). They seem busy on certain times but be warned that that’s when they make their most of their worst mistakes or have technicians trying to cut corners to move you along and if you say anything about it, they won’t be gracious enough to value you as a regular to move on and continue. I guess they got plenty of business for now to value a party of people who would spend almost $400 a visit despite imperfections and flaws they left behind but this is bad business practice in the long term. I hope their technicians get better.

UPDATE AFTER OWNER'S RESPONSE: How is the owner going to ask me to give them a call back when they have MY number blocked? It's insincere of them to post this response like they actually care but when I tried calling them, of course my phone number is blocked and the only time I can reach them is when I used someone else's number to call. Just admit that your salon has me banned like you informed my friend that I couldn't come back with her and so even my friend decided she is not coming back because why would she support a business with poor practices like this?
