If you have literally any other option beside this place, please use that instead. My partner called this place as it is super close by to us and told them I had two very, very ancient hard drives I was trying to see if we could recover the data from. I also left my external hard drive with them to load the data to if they were successful in recovering the data.
They seemed nice and I liked that they have a policy that if they were not able to recover the data, I wouldn't have to pay for anything. They told me it should be only a few days. I didn't hear anything by their deadline and then the business was closed for a week. No note on the door, no updates when I texted or left voicemails. Turns out the guy had Covid so they closed shop without an update to their customers, which I learned by calling another CompRite location.
When I came back in (again, I had called and texted beforehand, crickets in response. I didn't ever actually hear back on any of my numerous communications and had to continually stop by in person to force the updates out of them), the first employee that had helped me wasn't there and the other employee couldn't even locate my hard drives. He wasn't really sure what was going on with my stuff, and the person who first helped me wasn't in to work yet even though apparently he was late/should have been in.
Had to come back AGAIN another day and get the update that they needed to try a different type of computer to get it to read the drives and asked if he could have a few more days. Never heard anything back, even way after the deadline they gave. Tried calling and texting again, even had my partner stop by in person again.
Today, several weeks later, I stopped in to get my stuff back. At first they forgot to give me back my external hard drive, so I had to ask for that. It seems like it was lost as I heard rummaging in the back room and had to describe what it looked like. When he did locate it, one of the cords was missing. They wanted to stick me with a cord that was much shorter than my original cord. I had to push back stating such and that when I dropped my things off, I expect that they will be returned to me as they were my property. I also don't know why or how it would get lost, as they never did recover the data, so it should have been bundled with the other cord, as I left it with them. He said the person "doing the work didn't keep very good track of it" but found me a longer cable. The plug fits a bit loose and I am concerned it will not work as it should (I already told them I would be back and expect a new cord if this one doesn't end up working out).
I'm not really upset that they couldn't recover the data, that was a gamble anyway, I am upset at the horrendous customer service. Not returning any of the texts or phone calls and losing a part of my property I left with you under the assumption it would be taken care of? Completely lacking in professionalism and basic principles of a...
Read moreDo not go to these people. It was the worst experience I have ever had with a repair place. The guy I spoke to in the store gave me the price of repair and then increased the price he quoted me when we were paying, in a span of about 5 min (without me adding any services). When I said something to him, he denied That he ever gave me the original price. He told me the repairs would be done within three days. And that they would contact me when the repairs were done. When I didn’t hear from them, I tried calling them continuously and couldn’t get anybody to answer the phone. So I went there in person multiple times and they were always closed before the hours showed they were closed on the door. About a week after they said it was going to be done. I finally was able to catch someone at the shop. They didn’t have the phone and didn’t seem to know where it was and then he told me that it wasn’t done, they would call me when it was. About two weeks after he said it was going to be done I went back to the store still without receiving a call and the same guy that I had been dealing with, was acting completely clueless when I asked him why I’ve never received a call, Then he digs around in a drawer and finds the phone and hand it to me. I look at it and it is still broken!
When I tell him it’s still broken, he apologizes and he says he has to send it off to another store and get it fixed.
I called the number to the other store later and they say they aren’t able to fix the back of phones . (The reason I sent it for repairs). I told him then I want a refund in my phone back.
It takes me another few weeks to get in touch with the store in downtown Lake Oswego because they don’t answer the phone and they were never there during the store hours.
I show up again to just get my phone and get a refund and be done with them. They can’t find my still broken phone. I sat down there for an hour with the same clueless guy looking for my phone. While they’re looking for my phone, I get on the phone with the owner of the company? When they finally find my phone, he apologizes and says now they can fix the back of the phone and he’ll give me a discounted price if I’ll let them go ahead and fix it. Then he quoted me the same price I had already paid them to fix it in the first place.
This company is poorly run, managed and full of shady business practices please do...

took in an ipad because it wouldn't boot. they diagnosed it as a defective battery and battery cable. sure why not, i know absolutly nothing about apple products or their service so i trusted them entirely.
was told 3 days to get the part then like 20 min to install. great. told to expect a call when it was finished. great this was a Monday morning at 11am.\
called on Friday at 330 pm to check if it would be ready that week or if it would be the next. they said it was done and I could get it any time. I couldn't make it that day so I told them I would come in Saturday when they were open and pick it up (its good idea to call first they are not always open their posted hours) I forgot to go in Saturday.
I called on the following Tuesday when I realized I forgot. couldn't get anyone on the phone after calling 3 times so I just went in person the first chance I had on Thursday.
showed up and it appeared ready. but wouldn't turn on. so they took it in back and "charged it" ( i think it should have been fully charged after a battery change to test the battery.... but what do I know) waited for about 30 min and he came back and said it was all good. couldn't get it to turn on so I took his word for it and went home.
hot it home and tried to charge it and it has the exact issue I brought it in for still. will not boot. exact same. so I'm out $129.99 and it still doesn't work and I have no answers.
i am considering taking it back in but I'm not sure I read more of the google reviews. Now with some personal experience I'm seeing some trends......
my first red flag should have been when I was not asked to fill out any paperwork and did not get any receipt showing what i dropped off and what they were expected to do. I also didn't need to sign anything to get my stuff back either....
on a positive note! I have bought a few different used tech items there and have been overall very satisfied with the purchases. they were very helpful, had low prices, and had enough knowledge to answer my...
