The beer was good and our server, Dale, was great! Beautiful day outside but the patio wasn’t open. Nice atmosphere inside so that wasn’t a problem but would have been nice to be outside in the rare Oregon sun. We started with the street corn nachos. We stopped with the street corn nachos too. For $16 nachos with no meat, seems like they would be generous with the cheaper toppings. It looked really good at first glance when it arrived. Then we noticed the fire roasted corn was very scant. Less than 7 kernels and they were cold. Scant black beans too (also cold). Very bland and covered (as in soggy) in Velveeta-type cheese and few random carrot pieces. Nowhere in the description does it mention velveeta or American cheese. Yuck. It’s actually hard to mess up nachos! When the server asked how we liked it, we did tell him it was cold, soggy and pretty much missing the corn and beans. Not his fault, but since he asked we were honest. He offered to have another one made, but we declined. I like Five Spice and was just there today. I know these owners can do way better. We will try it again down the road when they work out the kinks. UPDATE: I’ve been back over there a few times now. I am going to skip what I don’t recommend, and say that the fish and chips, the sidewinder fries, the wedge salad, the fig and goat cheese burger are all very good! I would go back for any of those delicious lunch/dinner options! Holding off on going back for breakfast...

Extremely underwhelming, considering the phenomenal restaurants in the immediate area and how much we spent here for just okay appetizers.

The space felt sterile and common, especially compared to the cozy, classy restaurant that used to be here, and again unlike the places only just next door. Harsh lighting, loud and echoey interior, and absolutely no character.

For a warm, sunny, family holiday evening, it was noticeably empty; easily more servers than guests here, while everywhere else nearby was packed. We thought we lucked out, but now we don't think so.

The overall staff vibe was disorganized and slow. Our server was very friendly, but spent the entire time unceremoniously trying to upsell - something I've never seen done so blatantly before. Thinking it was just our table, we listened in on other servers nearby, and determined this must be common practice at the taphouse.

Our food was fine, but definitely nothing remarkable. It came out quickly, and was decently presented; however, it did not stand out or feel worth anything close to what we were charged for it, especially since we only really did shared plates and appetizers. The sangria was bitter and syrup-heavy, rather than sweet, light, and refreshing as a sangria should be.

Overall I would not return, given how many other wonderful places there are to choose from in this...

Visited on Sunday evening for dinner. Our server had great things to say about the Mushroom Risotto, so we ordered that with a side of steelhead for protein, the fish & chips, and the bruschetta- smoked salmon, Boursin, onions and crispy capers with pesto + caramelized onions over chèvre + Brie with Cajun shrimp and mango salsa (with unexpected cilantro, bleh). the salmon bruchetta wqs by far the best, but the flavors were good on the others, aside from the unmentioned and unwanted cilantro (tastes like soap so I have to avoid it on food).

Our entrees were served hot and were delicious. The chips were like a chunky, homemade curly fry and were the perfect complement to the tender fried fish. The risotto was very well balanced in flavor and paired beautifully with the side of steelhead - which was perfectly cooked.

We had the luck to sit on the patio and were surprised at the comfortable chairs - better overall than expected.

We also tried one of their zero-proof cocktails and will definitely try more - it had well-balanced flavor and a fun blueberry and lime garnish. The servers were very friendly and helpful, especially in helping identify the zero-proof mocktail syrups we hadn’t heard of before.

Parking was easy in the parking garage. Overall a wonderful experience after a long day and we look forward...

The location is conveniently situated among other eateries with ample public parking for all. So, why would you choose to eat at the Tap Room bar and restaurant? One would likely enjoy the outdoor dining with a view of the piazza. The building interior is renovated from the old Manzana restaurant in such a way that utilizes natural lighting and optimizes spacious seating arrangements for the bar, restaurant and meeting rooms. The staff are respectfully older and engaging. The menu has crafted cocktails, mocktails, beer, wine. The food choices are diversified allowing more selections that are not deep fried. There are many flat screen televisions to enjoy viewing sports. The music is sadly horrible 80s pop culture and does nothing to flatter this upscale atmosphere but it is an easy fix. The prices are unfortunately on the higher side but not unlike every other establishment nearby. In general, the Taphouse does not offer a lake view as the name implies but does offer another excellent venue to enjoy among other places nearby this Lake Oswego location.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I was dropping my son off to meet some friends and decided to pop in for a bite. The restaurant was clean, and the vibe was lovely. The outside views were nice, and I thought the service was great. Prices were reasonable. I asked for a low-carb bruschetta and initially received only one. However, the waitress was kind enough to have the order remade, so I boxed the original to take home and share with my family. My son had the chicken sandwich with fries and thought it was one of the best chicken sandwiches he has had—and he is a super picky eater, so I was very happy about that. If you are visiting downtown lake Oswego I do highly recommend visiting Lakeview Taphouse.
