The primary drawback of the path system is the constantly-shifting, often cramped, and typically crowded lanes for walking and biking. Poor design choices force users to devote way too much attention to not getting run over or causing an accident, especially where walkers, runners, and bikers intermingle - which is throughout the majority of the path system. Additionally, the pathways are sporadically bisected by vehicle traffic lanes or driveways, and frequently abut parking lots.
Many opportunities to appreciate a view, stop for a break, or interact casually with other trail users are missed due to the pressure to keep pace with other walking, running, or biking traffic.
