DryHop offers a conflicting experience. To elaborate, the food and beer offerings are fantastic. My fiance and I arrived around 4pm on a Monday night during a holiday weekend and there was a vast array of beers (brewery specific and guest draughts) to choose from. We stuck to the DryHop beers are we were very please with the taste and pricing of the beers. For our food options, we did their Monday night special which is a burger, beer, and a shot of bourbon for $15. The burger is one of the better burgers I've had in the Lakeview neighborhood, and days later I'm still relishing in the flavor of the burger. The combination of the raw cheddar and their house blend of meat was fantastic, and we chose to spruce it up with a crispy heap of bacon. The fries were a little disappointing, a tad overdone and kind of bland (outside of the heavy dusting of salt), but the aioli sauce helped to stomach the fries. My issues with DryHop come with the service. It was absolutely abysmal and it is probably the reason why I won't be back to DryHop for any reason but to fill up a growler. We were promptly seated, but it took our waitress a solid 10 or so minutes to come and greet us, which was odd given the fact there were three servers for the 10-15 table offering which was about 80% full. We put in our beer order and it took another 10 or so minutes for our beers to arrive. We stated that we didn't want to put in our food order for another hour, which apparently meant to the waitress that we didn't want to drink in the time frame either, as our first beer glasses went empty, along with our water bottle. Around 5pm our waitress came by and said she was transitioning us to a new waitress who would take care of us. The waitress also subjected us to the ignoring routine, resulting in us only having two beers and our burgers by the time we left around 6pm. I was absolutely appalled by the service given the size of the restaurant and the ample staffing. The atmosphere was what you'd expect of a brewpub, a huge focus on the brewing tanks and an impressive bar with the respective tap handles and liquor shelving. I'd recommend sitting at the bar or just stopping in for a...
Read moreInitially, we had nothing but good things to say. Our first server was amazing! I don't recall her name but she's tall, slim with black and blonde hair. Customer service was awesome. We had a beer flight, pizza and a burger. Food and pics were great and then there was a shift change. Our second server never came to introduce herself. We caught her in passing to order drinks as she was rushing outside to tend the customer with the dog. We waited as she brought the dog food, played with the dog and then started playing in her hair. I asked if she could bring us ice for the water but also if she could wash her hands first because I had a dog allergy and saw her playing with the dog and in her hair. She stared at us and said sure but she never came back to the table. We received the drinks from the bartender and she was a good time as well. We caught the second server in passing the second time she went to rush to the customer with the dog and we requested the bill. The server brought the bill and I requested a paper copy of the receipt. I never saw the server again. No receipt no nothing. I don't remember if she said thank you. This would have been an awesome experience but the server with the jean shorts and tan/ brown shirt was terrible. We will definitely be back because the burgers were amazing and almost all of the customer service was on point, but we will probably sit at the bar or request the initial server if she's...
Read moreExpect hour waits + on Fri/Sat nights... I am not that patient so I came back for brunch but sadly the brunch menu is a little limited in my opinion.
I wanted the Nudist on Strike omelet with mushrooms and arugula, but saw it brought out to another dinner and it was tiny! The buttermilk potato casserole sounds delicious but looked more like two halves of cooked potato covered in a minuscule amt of sauce. boring.
Our Brunch Order:
-The Burger- It was good but nothing out of this world, or that I couldn't get at a myriad of other places in the city. The Parmesan aoli served with the fries on the other hand is a delicious Parmesan blast that I will be craving for years to come! Custom Blend with Ancho Chile-Tomato Jam, Arugula, Pickled Sweet Onions, & a Heap of Creamy Aged Raw Milk Cheddar ($13 I think)
-Poutine- Was a classed up version of famous staple, with melted cheese on top of a giant plate of fries hiding a light gravey inside. Its good, but you can only eat so much so best split amongst 2+ people. Frites with Broadbent's Hickory Smoked Bacon, Aged Cheddar, Scallions, & Smoked Country Sausage Gravy
By the time I make it out to brunch and wait for a table I am generally starving and looking for a little more quantity for my heard earned money, the prices combined with the limited menu have secured this as a no go brunch place for me, but its a brewery right, you go...
