Well..This store was a little better before but now they are not polite and not giving good customer service. It has been a long time I didn't came here and they change this..First prices..We go to thrift stores because we can find good things at a reasonable price but honestly this one is overpricing everything. If you go to Marshall's or TJ Max you find brand new things and a reasonable prices lower than this store.I ask them about a bracelet it said in the tag that was 925 sterling silver but wasn't true and more than $24. I liked but wasn't worth the price they had priced. The lady ask my son in a not friendly way that the shopping carts were not supposed to be at the jewelry department. She wasn't polite, the way that she talks to people is not good specially when she said she is the manager. My son put the shopping cart outside of the jewelry department and she asked him to.move the car more away. Then I told her this was his first time there and she can talk a little better explaining to customers.More friendly so the people would return to buy things from here. She said if you don't like the way I am talking you can leave this department (jewelry) .I asked for the manager and she said she was the manager. I think that they have to be grateful people donate to them and people buying from them. This is not going to be good for the store I'd they keep the same people working here treating customers as they don't have value. Hopefully someone on top of her can change the rules and do more training to people working...
Read moreI haven't shopped here since they moved from Barrington. Although a volunteer told me they had more space in the former location, this space is much nicer. It's a super fun place to browse, with creative displays. Although this store isn't near my house, I would return now and then when I'm shopping in Deer Park - it's not too much farther.
What I don't understand is the pricing - it's all over the place - from downright bargains to incredibly overpriced used boots. They have cowboy boots and some other "high-end" pieces at the front of the store and in other dedicated displays. Some of these so-called high-end boots were in horrible condition. I also saw shoes in the regular display racks that should have been discarded - completely ripped and not even leather!
This place suffers to some degree from the same mentality as Goodwill. There needs to be better judgement about what donated items should be tossed and how to price items equitably.
They have an extraordinary selection of jewelry, but a lot of it's overpriced. Some of the 14 kt gold and sterling jewelry was more expensive than a retail store. I was amazed that their vinyl records were only 25 cents. I'm sure pickers go here frequently, so the selection wasn't great, but I did find two records in MINT condition. I also found a nifty pocket watch-shaped wall decor piece for...
Read moreWhen I went there this summer it was fine. The last 2 times over the last month have been a joke. 1st I sat outside in the cold for 45 minutes only to be temperature tested and they questioned why I was at so low. Supposedly limiting store to 15 but yet there are more workers than shoppers. Now today I waited 20 minutes, they came out calling numbers but we and the 10 people behind us did not have them. They then angrily told us they would not hand out numbers for another 30 minutes. Since no one moved they handed out numbers after 15 minutes but then said we could only come back in 1.5 hours. What makes no sense is I can go in a clinic or Walmart and it is not this restrictive for entry in addition they limit the funds they are trying to raise for their charity. All we wanted was an explanation for why the delay and numbers. Nothing except anger we were given by volunteers as 15 confused patrons stood in the sleet and cold to shop. Seems like it defeats the purpose of charity and not...
