This is a tricky review. Duck Donuts makes the donuts fresh on the spot. This sounds like a great idea until you realize they have to physically set the donut mix into the hot oil, wait for them to cook, then wait for them to cool, and only then do they start to prepare your order.
This process means a long wait even when there is no line. We arrived around 1:00 on a Monday afternoon. We were the only ones in there and it still took close to 20 minutes for 6 donuts.
Your options are limited. They show a menu of what toppings you can get and you select. These are complicated to construct and take a considerable amount of time. Since nothing is premade everything takes a long time. These are also ONLY yellow cake donuts. No yeast.
They definitely taste great. But any local mom and pop donut shop offers the same great taste, readily available. I will typically grab donuts for clients and am always in a rush. If I mistakenly stopped in here and ordered a dozen without understanding their process then I would be late for my meeting.
The prices are outrageous. For half a dozen donuts it came out to around $3 per donut. For what you get and the time consumed it should be half that price. For similar quality you can get about a dozen and a half for the same price.
To be blunt, I’m not sure how they will survive. Unfortunately this seems to be the operational design from the headquarters so I don’t expect...
Read moreThe business was extremely understaffed during the morning rush. I felt sorry for the one person behind the counter who was trying to handle multiple pre-orders for individual donuts and sandwiches. It’s surprising that a donut and breakfast sandwich shop would have only one employee working during such a busy time and still take large pre-orders. This indicates poor management.
It was clear that the staff had not cleaned or restocked the night before. The floor behind the counter was filthy, and the counters were also unclean. The prep area behind the counter was a complete mess and appeared to have been neglected overnight.
I had pre-ordered several days in advance: one dozen donuts, coffee, and 12 breakfast sandwiches. However, it took so long for the donuts to be prepared that my sandwiches were cold by the time I left. I really wanted to like this place, and the food did taste good, but considering the cost and the inconvenience, it's just not worth it—especially for an early morning office breakfast meeting.
I arrived at 6:50 a.m. for my 7:00 a.m. pickup, and by 7:10 a.m., the employee was still working on the breakfast sandwiches and hadn't even started on the donuts or the coffee. As a result, I was 45 minutes late to work, and the coffee and sandwiches were cold by the time I reached the office. This was very...

I recently visited Duck Donuts, and it was an amazing experience! From the moment you walk in, the smell of freshly made donuts fills the air. What sets Duck Donuts apart is their made-to-order process—you get to customize your own donut from start to finish. You choose the coating, topping, and drizzle, and they make it fresh right in front of you.
The donuts themselves are warm, soft, and perfectly sweet. I loved the variety of toppings, from classic options like sprinkles and chocolate to unique choices like bacon and maple. It’s fun to watch your creation come to life, and the end result is delicious every time.
The staff was friendly, and the service was fast despite the fact that each donut is made fresh. It’s a fun and interactive experience for both kids and adults. I highly recommend Duck Donuts if you're looking for a tasty treat that's customizable and always...
