Revised review: Okay so, I had previously left a 3 star review and mentioned in my review that I probably wouldn’t go back, well, I’m taking that all back because I decided to give it another go and had a great experience. The bartender was very friendly and on top of her game, even when the place got a little more crowded, she was doing her best to stay on top of all of her customers. I ordered the lavender martini and it was one of the the best drinks I’ve had all summer. The patio is a hidden gem that I wish more people knew about. It’s pretty spacious and there is an outdoor fireplace, which would be nice for evenings. And, just like the last time I was there, the tinman burger and fries were both amazing. I’ll leave my previous review incase it is helpful for people or if anyone reading is curious about it lol! (I do still wish there was a better sign outside, so that more people knew about it! I also feel my second experience was a good one because I had a better idea about how/where to order, which is a tad confusing if it’s your first time in)
Original review: There was no clear signage outside of the building, which was a bit confusing, but since the gps said we were there we walked in! After we walked in, NO ONE said anything, so we went up to the bar and asked if we should just sit anywhere. After we sat down, we waited for 10 minutes looking up the menu on google. Again, NO ONE came to help us, so we went to the bar to order drinks. I wish the bartender had been more helpful because we were the only customers and he sort of just stared at us while we were reading the list of drinks. I will say, they had a really big selection, it just felt extremely awkward to order. To order food, you have to go to a separate part of the building, which they also did not make very clear, we had to ask ourselves where to go to order food (the only reason I even knew they served food was from an Instagram post I had seen). The man who took our food order was very helpful and kind once we got over there and the burgers we ordered were really tasty! My only other complaint is that it was 45 degrees outside, and the thermostat inside said 60 degrees!!! I didnt take my hat or coat off the whole time! They should probably consider the comfort of their customers. I’m hoping with a few changes, this place will go far because the potential is there. For now, most likely will not be...
Read moreMy wife and I have been going to Bottlehouse for years. There are a lot of microbreweries out there, especially in Cleveland, but very few have such a consistent quality of the beer and almost none have mead, especially good mead. Their brewmasters aren’t afraid to experiment with new or difficult styles, like sours and belgians, and do better than a lot of long-established breweries and big corporations with far more resources. Although I’ve been to the east side before, Lakewood is more convenient and I just love the old tavern vibe, deep wood tones, stonework, and being able to see the casks while they silently age the next batches. There’s also a chill patio and absolutely delicious kitchen run by culinary savant Chef Mike.
With all that, we chose it as the venue for our wedding and it was a steal. We had the entire place for the whole day, dropped things off the night before and were able to pick them up later in the morning the day after when they were already setting up for another wedding! There was a small deposit and a minimum for the bar tab, but that was it. We worked with Robert for almost a year and a half as we planned things out. Even throughout the pandemic, we kept things on track and checked in to see what was changing and how we needed to prepare. He worked directly with our coordinator and they took care of moving everything around, set-up, teardown, and cleanup.
As one of the first big parties after 2020, people got a little crazier than they might’ve otherwise. Robert warned us when the bar tab was getting close to running out and was easily able to extend it for just the draft list and then switch to cash towards the end without a problem. Bottlehouse even added specialty cocktails for us, which included gold flakes. Throughout the entire thing, the staff was diligent, quick, and upbeat. All in all, it was one of the easiest parts of the whole experience and a wonderful,...
Read moreI have never eaten there, so I can't report on that. The beer, cider and mead choices are phenomenal and with the flight options...you will definitely find something you will like. I have been to the Cleveland Hts location and this one many times and they are night and day when it comes to service. The Lakewood location has always made me feel a little rushed to order and move me along, when they weren't even busy. The last time I was there the bartender asked us to move down to the bar corner because other people were going to be there later. 1st of all, there was nobody even at the bar and a total of two other couples in the whole place. We did as she had asked, but nobody ever came after two flights of four drinks...a few hours. Last I checked...all bars are 1st come 1st served and without reservations you sit where you want. She also had a little attitude because she dropped a flight holder and gave a little attitude to us and another customer. We were on our way out and she was busy talking to the chef about coworkers and was going to ignore us if she didn't see my upset face and then said good bye as we were actually out the door. I had half a mind to contact the owner. All of the other times the other servers were at least nice as they pushed us along. If ya want good service...I suggest the Cleveland Hts location. The service is far better. The owner of this location should be ashamed for not checking his...
