Had to give 1 star because that’s the least possible thing. We, a group of 5, appropriately dressed have gone to the Rink at Belmar. The lady at the counter said she sold out of the tickets and if she has to let us in, some people have to leave and so, we patiently waited there for 30 minutes. Then, She told its better for us to leave since there’s only 30 minutes left for the day. We’ve understood and started to move from there. As soon as we left, she sold 3 tickets to the people behind us. We’ve seen the man give his credit card for the purchase and have heard him worrying if they could get the tickets while we were in line. So, we went back and asked the lady how come she sold the tickets to them. She lied to us on the face that they had reservation. What a joke! And then when we’re starting to get serious, she offered that she could let two people in. If I am getting my math right and if she could let 2 people 30 mins later after selling 3 tickets, she could’ve sent us 5 before. This is a clear case of RACISM. She was so rude and was giving curt, ignorant replies. We were there to celebrate one of our friends’ birthday and this totally ruined the moment. It would have been very better if they’ve just put a board stating “No asians/Indians/browns” instead of exchanging glances among them, making us wait, waste our time and hurt our feelings. We are following the same rules & procedures and haven’t been paying any penny less than others. Thank you THE RINK AT BELMAR for ruining holiday spirits and for...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars, I would. My experience here on December 26, 2024, was nothing short of appalling and reeked of discrimination. My group (of Asian origin) waited patiently in line for 25 minutes—first in line—only to be told by the girl at the register (with a silver thing on her nose, who refused to provide her name) that they were “sold out for the night.” Accepting this at face value, we left the line quietly. However, as soon as we stepped away, this SAME employee sold tickets to the group of three who were standing behind us in line.
When we approached her again to confront this blatant unfairness, she became rude and dismissive, claiming she could only allow two people now—a complete contradiction and another slap in the face. Even the group behind us, who ended up getting tickets, admitted they did NOT have online reservations.
This was a clear act of RACISM and utter disrespect. Being treated differently solely because of our ethnicity is unacceptable and disgusting. This business needs to address its staff’s discriminatory practices and train them on basic decency and professionalism. We deserve better, and so does every customer who walks through their doors.
Avoid this place at all costs if you value fairness...
Read moreIt's been decades since I've actually put any skates on my feet. I did better then expected tho it at have been a personal record not having any major falls or bruses to really speak of. Now strained mussels in.places didnt even know.had them we're an entirely different story.
Regarding the atmosphere is nice and it is beautiful. Considering the age of the area it could little polish and some new skates. That would warm it up a bit. I imagine they would have to do some serious makeover if they want to draw any real attention . It would be worth the investment though I am...
