When my husband and I came to get an appointment with a design that I made we were asked to make a $100 deposit per tattoo b/c it was custom work; it didn't make sense to me because they had nothing to do with the design that I made and I'm sure most customers bring a picture of what they want and but I doubt they all have to make that downpayment. We got matching armbands, a simple design with a rose, and we were originally quoted $250 for each but when he asked how big we wanted it, we weren't sure and said 2 in and he said "ohh that big? Then its 350." Its not a solid ink design of 2 in and mine ended up being around 1 in and my husband's turned out to be around 1.5 but there was no price adjustment. I guess in hindsight it is our fault for not questioning it since prices in this industry are probably very subjective but he seemingly had no metric to justify a $100 increase. Honestly if he had done a good job then the price might not have bothered us so much.
First he stenciled about 1/3 of my husband's tattoo backwards and it was very obvious but he didn't notice it and said we had a "good eye" when we told him. So restenciled it and it was ok. My husband's tattoo came out pretty close to my design so I wasn't worried after that but he distorted mine alot, I guess he doesn't know how to resize without warping a design on whatever software they use. His stencil job also cut out parts of the design, which he fixed during the touch up but he should have looked over my tattoo and noticed but I guess its not surprising since he lacks paying attention to detail. The main thing I noticed when he stenciled me was that a certain part of the design was longer than the rest and he restenciled that part and it looked better but still didn't flow well but I decided that it wasn't a big deal and I didn't really notice that the leaves were all different sizes, shapes and lengths b/c it was not as noticeable when they were not filled in. When he finished we paid and promptly left b/c we were tired from being there like 6hrs, so I didn't really get to look it over til we left and I was very dissapointed when I realized how warped they were since my design was pretty uniform and consistant. I've seen his other work and he seems like a decent artist but he took no care with ours and the design was not even that complex, I understand that the location was not the easiest as it wraps around the arm but an artist should pay better attention, so becareful if Tony is yiur artist and don't be afraid to take your time looking over your design, asking for it to be restenciled or questioning the price.
On the rose itself he did a decent job though I just noticed after the touch up that one of the petals is lacking color, doesn't look bad and its probably more my fault for not asking for more color. The staff were friendly, gave me a free t-shirt and seemed accomodating and Tony is a nice guy but I don't trust his skill as an artist and you need to be careful about the prices you accept b/c they will try to get the most out of you. I got a 2nd and 3rd tattoo somewhere else and had a much different experience, price adjustments, the artist looking over her work without being asked to, and perfected the designs (also designs I did myself and was not asked for a...
Read moreAbout 4 weeks ago me and my sibling went to get pierced together. At the time, they had a younger piercer who did well enough, and that was that. He said we could go back in for shorter jewelry bars if needed. We went back yesterday, and he was no longer there, which was not the issue. The receptionist, about early 30s, greeted us awkwardly and was unprofessional in his manners and communication skills. We said what we wanted which he had trouble understanding, so he had to have the new piercer to work with us instead. We went back with the piercer, and for some reason, he followed. He stayed in the room with us and did not leave once. He continually made jokes about piercing and how the piercer made it look easy. He watched my sibling being pierced right beside me. He had also made a comment that made us both uncomfortable saying “Man, I wish I could pierce someone, I just wanna stab someone.” That comment alone made me want to leave, but I felt unsafe leaving my underaged sibling alone. The piercer was polite and communicative. The receptionist made the experience unpleasant and uncomfortable. It overall felt unprofessional on all levels from the receptionist, alone. I now wish I had said something about how uncomfortable it was but he did not leave once to feel comfortable enough to say so. Professionalism is key, this kind of...
