We stumbled onto this place by accident and were pleasantly surprised by this charming little museum. As we entered we were greeted by a knowledgeable and friendly curator who pointed out some of the museums most interesting displays which included a baseball signed by Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, some intricate wood carvings done by a local barber 50 years ago, and a collection of wedding dresses dating back well over 100 years. The baseball was cool but the wedding dresses were particularly unique as they were in excellent condition and were displayed with the picture of the bride in her dress from the actual wedding day. It really helped tell the story of the dress. We also enjoyed the 100 year old X-ray machine and military uniforms from all the major wars. Overall, this little museum is charming and a must see if you're in the area. Set aside two - four hours to fully appreciate the museum, or you can get a good gist of the place in...
Read moreThis is a great place for people who want to learn more about Lanesboro and its history. As someone who had no idea about the region and it's history, I learned a lot. I agree with some of the other reviewers said, it is a hidden gem here in Lanesboro. What I loved about this museum is how they used their collections from the community to tell the story and history of the area. The guy at the desk was very knowledgeable about Lanesboro and extremely friendly and even told me some things that I didn't know. I think this is a great stop if you love history and want to know more about the community and the...

It’s small, but packed with interesting exhibits about the town’s history—everything from local businesses and railroads to school life and farming. You can tell the volunteers and curators care a lot about preserving the stories of the area.
I really enjoyed the vintage photos and artifacts, and there’s a cool model of the town that shows what it looked like years ago. It doesn’t take a ton of time to go through, but it’s definitely worth stopping in if you’re in town. Great way to learn about Lanesboro’s roots and appreciate how much has...
