Over the years of going to Lansboro, Minnesota to bike the trails and enjoy Root River, we’ve had tours and opportunities to get to know Richard Lamon, co-owner of the Stone Mill.

The town is an ideal day trip for travel and leisure for Twin Cities residents. If you are looking to spend a few days (or week), I highly recommend the gracious accommodation of the Stone Mill Hotel and Suites. The original part dates back at least to 1884 and has been beautifully restored after an early fire. During warm months, the front patio has cheerful summer plantings.

Two things stand out – Their passion for offering the best customer service and cleanliness. The rooms that we’ve toured are delightful and reflective of this historic building’s treasured past and critical role in the community. The breakfast is very good - cold cereal, hard-boiled eggs, juices, several types of chewy, fresh scones, and other baked goods, as well as toast, fruit, yogurt, and several varieties of coffee, are available.

It's fun to learn why they named their premium room "Buffalo Bill". Buffalo Bill happened to, on the spur of the moment, with his doctor friend put on a show. Only about one mile out of Lansboro, was the first show. Under the back of the mill, which once was on stilts, is now a suite named Buffalo Bill. Each suite is unique and decorated in period style. The Egg Jacuzzi Suite & Hen House room has a nice private entrance, as well as the Buffalo Bill room. I also think the Fishing Room is exceptional.

The owners of Stone Mill are exceptional people, I highly recommend taking time to converse with Richard. They have thoughtfully prepared a back patio for small events, private parking, and a bike storage building that is kept locked with access to hotel guests.

A special place to visit all seasons. A wonderful town in the heart of beautiful Amish...

Can I give this place stars x’s Infinity?!!!! My husband and I celebrated our first decade of marriage together and he booked the Egg suite for us and it was PERFECT 🤩 Super quiet and private and that’s thanks to the super thick walls. At one time the space was known as the ice room. Many items that were part of the mill while it was still operating are there and many of the wall hangings tell the history of the place! There’s a two person jacuzzi in the room shaped kind of like a heart and then a two person shower separate from that plus a desk for work, a comfy king size bed, coffee and a refrigerator along with beautiful, minimalistic decor and a large closet area. If you have family or kids you can also rent the back room known as the Hen suite which has 2 twin size beds in there a sink and toilet and a walk through door. Super dark for bed time. Just outside from the private entrance in back you also get your own private patio with a table and two chairs. We enjoyed getting to know the staff who are so friendly and kind. They love hospitality and do a wonderful job showing that. The breakfast area is beautiful and the food is delicious. There’s a front patio as well and it is close to one of the bike trails. There’s a private shed the hotel has where you can lock up your bikes at night. We also had a motorcycle with us along with our car and they told my hubby he could put it in the shed for safety. Wow so nice of them! We loved our stay the bike trails floating down the river and trying out some restaurants. We highly recommend Pedal pushers cafe! Delicious and healthy meals. They even have several GF options. We can’t wait to come back to the egg suite! This is our spot now to get away. We hope to come back again when there’s a play at the...

We enjoy biking and had never been to the Lanesboro area so we “hit the internet” to plan our trip. The Stone Mill Inn looked interesting ,so we booked a stay there. Looking back on our stay, I think we hit upon the “crown jewel” of the area. From the moment we walked in, we new we would enjoy our stay. We were greeted by the owner, and he could not have been more welcoming. He gave us an overview of the area and the Inn and then personally escorted us to our rooms. The rooms were each well appointed, very clean, comfortable and unique. The Inn had several indoor and outdoor areas to gather with our friends and relax. Unknown to us when we booked our stay, the Inn even provided an indoor, secured area for bike storage. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations and we plan on making our trip to Lanesboro and a stay at the Stone Mill Inn an annual event. Thanks to owners and staff at the Stone Mill Inn on providing us with an amazing introduction to the Lanesboro area and a very comfortable...

Wow- This was our first stay and it was absolutely amazing! With living close, we had not stayed here before and I regret not staying here sooner. It's history is rich, and themed rooms are charming. We stayed in the Farm Suite, and I recommend requesting it if you get the chance! There was a loft for the kids, king bed for my husband and I, and bonus- jacuzzi tub! The location is downtown so you are walking distance to the shops, restaurants, theatre and bike trail. In the morning there was breakfast and we were treated to pastries from the local Pastry Shop (yuuuuum)! I truly recommend staying here on your next trip to Lanesboro, or even for a stay-cation in town. You will not be disappointed!

I would give this Inn 100 🌟 if I could! The cleanliness of the rooms was something you don't see at any chain hotels anymore. From the moment we checked in, to the moment we checked out, we felt like we were home. I thought there was no way to have so many great Google reviews until I saw why. The love put into every inch of the Inn is absolutely wonderful. The morning breakfast has pastries from the local shop. So delicious! Bobby was fun to chat with while he kept the room in order. Rick (the owner) had a smile on his face at all times. I don't know when we'll be back, but we'll be sure to be back someday!
