There are a few good things to say about this theater but overall I just can't rate it higher than 3 stars. First of all, it's continuously understaffed. It seems like there are only at most a half dozen people working here at any given time. Most times when I come here to purchase tickets for late night showings I have to go to a card reader at one corner of the lobby which is inconvenient.
Secondly, the lines are extremely long both for concessions and for even getting into your theater for your movie showing. This effect is multiplied much more for major blockbusters where the lines go all the way out of the building leaving all the patrons just waiting anxiously. I feel that the reason for this is because they don't space their showings long enough to allow whatever staff to clean the theatres in enough time to accommodate the next batch of people. It is especially frustrating when you arrive early for a movie you really want to see and are forced to wait and wait.
Third, the concessions are not varied aside from the usual popcorn and nachos. However, this applies to all of Allen theatres and not just this location. An upside is that it is relatively cheap when compared to other theatre chains. Also granted I have not had their food in their upstairs cafe so this did not factor into my rating.
This is only one of two major theatres where you can see major releases when they come out so it's enough living here in Las Cruces but there are better options out there for moviegoing experiences if one is willing to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently bought tickets to see one of the latest blockbusters here, and my experience was very much less than satisfactory. When approaching the booth, there was thick smell of pot, which is worrying at the least, and there was nobody manning the booth. Instead, there was a small sign that directed us inwards, and forced us to purchase our tickets using one of their computers. Then, after we were greeted and checked in by nobody, we made our way to the appropriate theater. There we waited, 5 minutes after starting time. 10 minutes after starting time. 20 minutes after starting time. You get the picture. It wasn't until I called the theater that someone did anything. Even after that, It took a whole 15 minutes or so for an employee to check things out. It was then that we were notified that the movie could not be played. I managed to get a refund, but only barely. The only positive experience to come out of this was the lighthearted mockery that was being made of the what we thought to be an operational...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to see Birds of Prey Regret today which was in theater 4(I totally regret not taking a picture)but the seating was just horrible. Well for the row we were sitting in, which was Row H seats 8,9,10 and 11. My adult children had to sit with their legs open in a very uncomfortable position because the people in the row in front of us were reclined all the way back and my kids couldn't sit normal because they're legs were literally being squished from the front seats. To top it off our seats hardly reclined back.(ugh) This was totally unacceptable .We go to the movies alot. And spend alot on tickets and concessions. One should be able to sit comfortable and enjoy the movie. Was sad that We thought we'd go somewhere different instead of watching a Movie in the city we live in which is El Paso so we decided to make that 30 minute drive to las cruces for a nice family day out , well all I can say is today will be the 1st and last time we go to cineport 10. Staff friendly. Place is clean....
