Centennial Park Disc Golf Course — Attraction in Lawrence

Frolfed here close to a dozen times. Well kept park. Grass is mowed regularly so rough is pretty forgiving except for the creeks. Lots of places where your disc can shoot into a creek so keep an eye out. Hilly. Some fun downhill shots. Can be busy at times. Tee pad paint is faded to unreadable on some holes. They do have little white indicators pointing to the next tee pad by each basket. The numbers on top of each basket are too small to read from the tee pad. They change the basket locations every few weeks I think which can make a 3 seem like a 4...

5 tents have been in place since prior to 4/1/22. There is more trash than trees. This is outside of the designated camping zone but the city does nothing. They let a Toyota with 3 wheels sit in the front parking space by the playground for 8 months. There is often a tent at the playground. Campers start fires, defecate in public, and sometimes have children residing in the tents. This park and disc golf course were very nice just 18 months ago but it seems the City has no interest other than mowing and...

I’ve played on a lot of courses in Kansas and this is by far the dirtiest and most congested I’ve ever played. If you like views of homeless camps and trash littered throughout the course, then this is the one for you! I prefer to play where the vibe is a little more comfortable!
